VRChat - WAOW, it's the METAVERSE!!! (a growing den of pedophiles, furries, and troons that is advertised as safe for children)

ProximityChat had a run-in with an old 2017-2018 era furry lolcow and serial liar named Alan Lubeski:
ProximityChat, a VRChat trolling YouTuber, had one of his recent videos falsely copyright claimed by this faggot, so Prox did some digging into Alan and made this 20-minute video about his findings, including many of the findings from this thread:
(PreserveTube)

Apparently Alan leaked ProximityChat's personal information (which a copyright counter-notification requires) and tried to accuse his audience of swatting him. :stress:

The words are technically correct, but it feels wrong since it seems like the troon is implying the minors are at fault for going into 18+ areas in VR chat and not VR chat doing this on day one. I just noticed this on my feed. Irked me the wrong way.

Yes, minors might go out of their way to enter 18+ spaces either out of curiosity or because they previously became addicted due to EPI. It's up to both parents AND the people running the online game to stop it from happening.

Troons and like groomers love to take advantage of stupid minors. It's asinine for this troon to place full blame on the minors themselves.

I remember when I was a kid, which wasn't that long ago all things considered, I thought adults were cool. That's most kids. Kids don't think often times that they're going to get groomed/raped by joining a fucking video game server that has adults on it. Now as a adult, we know that IS a massive fucking issue. The kid don't though. He wants to be cool, act tough, be a man, play with the big kids. This is because he is a child, which is a young, inexperienced, and stupid phase of life. Its why they can't vote or drink or any of that adult stuff.

I can immediatly see a few issues with that:
I don't really know how this persona system works, but maybe it might be completely possible for a particularly clever kid to just grab a older (18+)'s sibling/parent/whoever's id and just.... use that.
The Eurocrats are going to have a field day with this, and most likely going to cause wayy too many headaches for VRchat's lawyers to the degree where they do it US only or just backtrack.

Fuck, i've seen kids get into 18+ discord servers this way, y'know, where the owner asks them for a pic of the ID with everything except the birthday censored, except this is even easier to bypass with a fake ID since... well... it's a picture, (or do the entire "steal and older sibling's ID and use that" shtick).

ID verfication for anything online just, doesn't work, like, fundamentally it's flawed, and easily bypassable. Also a potential privacy violation, and as i said the eurocrats are going to have a field day with this since... well... they are eurocrats, they gave apple hell over how their damn charging cable is shaped, for example.

So, as i said, either US only or not happenning at all.
And this also begs the question: Why haven't porn sites started doing this too? Like, at this point accessing horny +18 vrchat rooms will be trickier than full on porn. Like, jesus christ this concept just doesn't fundamentally work, and it never will. Let's be honest

Turns out his channel was mysteriously banned a few hours ago.

Here is a screenshot posted in his discord server announcement channel:

Yes, I use light mode. Let me be.

There was also a link posted for a Group+ instance. After trying to search up "The Furry Keys" world on VRChat, the world did not come up, nor did it show on GrizzlyBearKing's VRC profile. I think there's a way to hide worlds from the game and one's profile without hiding/privatizing them from the website.

I was wondering what happened. I literally had one of his videos pulled up to watch later, then it was just gone when I actually sat down to watch it. Smells like some gayops are afoot.
From the Alan Lubeski thread:
I do feel it's worth pointing out that Prox had one of those fake cryptocurrency panel streams on his channel a few hours ago, indicating he was probably hacked. That kind of makes me iffy on whether or not his termination can be entirely blamed on Lubeski and his clique of totally-definitely-not-pedos.

Theres a few women at work whose children have vrheadsets. I gone as far as showing them screenshots of the fucked up behavior prevalent in vrc to make sure they understand how much of a danger it is to their kids and make sure they arent on it.
How has this gone? How do average people tend to deal with it, did they find any success? I have no idea how VRC doesn't have any sort of hate directed at it in the public eye, but pissed moms seems like a good way to get that ball rolling.

In my childhood, they'd kvetch about DOOM and CoD teaching kids to kill, which we all knew even at the time was retarded, but VRC is legitimately teaching children to pose like prostitutes in real life with their real bodies.

Theyre now paranoid and ask me if xyz is okay.

Ive also told them discord major red flag and something their kids shouldnt use.

It's because in CoD and DOOM you are obviously killing people, but it's in a game and not real and your average 10 year old knows that killing people is bad.

With VRchat, hovewer, it's more of a "digital abstraction of reality" than a game. Sure, you can say that about online multiplayers like war thunder and call of duty, HOWEVER, those are games that, while multiplayer, do NOT emphasize social interaction or even facilitate it to a significant degree beyond basic team chat and voice chat and that's it. So, they are not a "digital abstraction of IRL socializing" because digital socializing isn't their purpose. Their purpose is for entertainment, and their core gameplay revolves primarily around the basic concept of the game (E.G. CoD for example is a shooter, and that's what it's gameplay revolves around, same with GTA Online, except with a bit more social aspect, hovewer, it's not designed with socializing in mind, you can ignore that and do your own thing, or garry's mod, where you can just completely ignore the multiplayer functionality)

Unlike the above examples, tough VRchat, was made with the express purpose to facilitate online social interaction, as i said: A abstraction of reality. Going to a VR chat bar is eerily similar to going to a IRL bar in terms of general experience (minus the actual drinking and eating parts, but, let's be honest, this isn't the main purpose of a bar anyway) So, the core functionality of socializing remains much the same, even tough it doesn't actually happen IRL. But it does happen, and does affect kids the same way.

Also, as you may know by now, kids are VERY gullible, sure, they've got a basic moral compass that killing is bad, but when it comes to the entire "VRchat grooming/teaching kids how to pose" they don't know that they are being groomed and taught to pose with their bodies like that, they don't know what they are actually even doing. They are thinking "Oh, it's just an online game, it can't affect me" Yes, yes it can, and it does. Pedophiles and groomers know that. They know how to abuse children's psychologies, and manipulate them. Pedophiles and groomers, are very well versed in kid's psychologies and how to manipulate them. Why? Because it's easy, you don't have to be a psychologist to know that it's very, very, VERY easy to manipulate a kid into doing x, y and z. ESPECIALLY when you threaten/blackmail EVEN if said theats/blackmail are empty.

Hencewhy VRchat poses the same risks to kids, as any other social media platform, because, once you look at it's actual "core", it boils down to this. A social media platform, with private chat functionality, I.E. no different than discord, for example. The core components are here.

I mean, we've got discord servers, in VRchats those are rooms.
Private group chats? In VRchat those are called private rooms
The ability to customize your profile? In vrchat it's the ability to have different "skins" on your character.
Then we've also got voice and text chats in both that are fairly equivalent aswell.
(Granted, there are a few major differences, but that's due to their design. The core elements are there in their full capacity)

Henchewhy discord can be easily compared to vrchat, once you remove the entire "3D game" part of it. The same threats and dangers to kids are present in discord, the same way they are present here. Why? It's the same thing. Same concept, just dressed up in 3D with VR support. Except it's now even easier given that VRchat, apart from having little to no moderation also actively markets itself to minors.

I hope i explained my point well, im shit at explaining my points, but basically im comparing VRchat to Discord, and why i think it presents the same danger to minors as does discord. You are free to disagree/argue against this tough, since im most likely wrong on some points, so do feel free to correct me, if you feel like it

There has been more interesting happenings related to Proximity Chat, a furry by the name of CrazyJoe1952 is taking him to court related to the copyright claims on his Youtube video, this comes a day after Proximity Chat's Youtube channel is deleted, due to being hacked, hours after releasing a video related to the Furry Keys. Proximity Chat believes the furries are involved with the hack and subsequent deletion of his channel but doesn't explain how.
Proximity then posted the following image in reference to CrazyJoe1952, presumably it's part of the copyright claims message, superimposed onto a picture of CrazyJoe in a diaper.

I didn't even know you can sue someone over low quality kindergarden level youtube drama. Like, i didn't know the court would want to host what's pretty much the qeuivalent of a kindergarden online slapfight

I only went to this crappy app two times to see what it was about and both times it was incredibly boring and cringe as hell.
(Yes, that's a man)
No shit, I doubt there are any actual women in this app.
2chen users liked this development a lot and decided to make custom pedo edits using his character:
"MAP pride"

Those videos were plain atrocious, this shithead should be throw in jail ASAP.
"Bruh look at this dude", seems we found a time traveler from 2006.

The developers announced something that I believe should have been included since day one: a way to verify your age and prove you're over 18.
I clicked on the video and noticed that 90% of the comments under that video are concerned about having to use their real ID with a 3rd party and asking questions about data protection laws, some even stating that they will not even bother verifying.
Not sure if it's just me having a retarded take, but something tells me they really don't want their ID linked to their vrchat activity for a strong reason (considering the unfathomable levels of degeneracy and grooming on the platform).

In the past 11 months since I bought my quest 2 (Mainly used for golf and half life alyx nowadays), I have only spent about 30 minutes on vrchat in total, and I can say that it is not kid friendly at all. These people should not be complaining in my opinion if they want the absolute best for the platform.

Stopping citizens from a few nations from participating in 18+ experiences is not the "sacrifice" it seems like when you could idk... not be a gooner?

an actually good fucking take?

Nope still full a river of shit, "LETS NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE PEDOS, LETS BAN THE KIDS INSTEAD"

No shit, I doubt there are any actual women in this app.
Shocking amount of gross middle aged bio women on there, the same type of women that would flirt with teenagers in there WoW guild on team speak back in the day. Also vain egirls addicted to attention, definitely not majority women, but I would estimate a 75/25 split of men to women, more then you would expect.

Im not a gooner nor a pedo, but i still wouldn't do age verification on this out of simple respect for privacy. Im sorry but if you ask me to verify my id to play a fucking online game then you can well and truly eat sand. And then eat a EU fine as a main course because i don't belive the EU will agree to this shit

I should have added more context regarding that (my bad).
For expereinces that are 18+ and adult themed (bars, clubs etc), I feel that a verified account should be necessary. Standard instances (minigames, cinemas, sfw social spaces etc) should not have that restriction.
Although there is nothing preventing bad actors from being on sfw instances, it further reduces the chance of kids accessing the nsfw ones, which still helps in my opinion (even if it isn't 100% effective)
