Does anyone have much use for Excalibur Umbra? I've got him and his exalted weapon fully forma'd with maxed Umbral mods and other best-in-slot stuff; he just lacks survivability, and damage-wise he doesn't seem to compete with most other frames.

He feels like he's made for 2016 Warframe.
The best thing about Excalibur is that slash dash is pseudo exalted and benefits from extra damage and the blade shots when you have your exalted sword out. And because of that you can mod your melee for viral/electricity and combo/crit to proc archon stretch and then mod exalted blade for whatever because slash dash will add to exalted blades combo. Radial blind can be pretty helpful, especially for finishers so you can run melee crescendo. He's a fun frame, just boring at high level
and his kit is "okay enough" that DE will never change him.

In today's hot fix, among other things DE stated that using atomicycles in regular missions is now a feature, not a bug, but that this is not an indication they will expand this to other vehicles. They also removed atomicycles from archwing missions.

I've had a lot of fun zooming across netracell runs to get to the computer consoles quicker, so I'm quite happy they made this decision. I had completely expected them to patch it out.

Only sucky part is that the game defaults to the standard cycle skin outside of 1999, but hey, you win some you lose some.

Among my friends Lettie is the least liked character by far while Eleanor seems to be the most liked. How are people here finding the new characters?

Aoi is very girly and friendly. Not hard to see why people like her. Her bounty picture in front of a burning car also looks rather... familiar.

Eleanor is your classic "brooding-but-secretly-very-loving-once-you-get-to-know-her" girl. Very hard not to like her once you talk to her for a bit. It also helps that she's the only normal looking woman on the team. She's also voiced by the same VA as the narrator from BG3 and Malady from DOS2.
Amir is an early 00's nerd with a ritalin addiction, he's fine enough, but I could easily see why people would find him annoying.
Arthur is a brooding "nothin personell kid" who is socially awkward. Clearly made as husbando-bait. Good enough, I guess.
Quincy types like a ghetto retard and I get the feeling he would shoot you over a 20 dollar Höllar bill. I don't really see the appeal.
Lettie is an annoyingly stereotypical latin american character. She's your typical bitter medic. I wish people could make latin american characters that don't absolutely have to shove spanish into their speech randomly. I find her kind of annoying. Also who plays Trinity these days lmao

I absolute detest characters who do that. Its rude, inconsiderate and trashy. I'm bilingual and I wouldn't be caught dead doing that shit.

In the quest she was just being le strong independent woman, was bitch to everyone and spoke mexican randomly. I don't think anyone likes her except the mexicans simply because she's one of them. She's my second most disliked character after Quincy. He's a nigger skinwalking as a british man and his voice lines during bounties annoy me so much. I wish the quest let us permanently kill off some of them so I wouldn't have to hear "fam" or "innit" ever again from this nigger's mouth.

Hate Quincy, am mildly annoyed by Trinity, don't mind mag and volt, and am completely indifferent to the rest.

Quincy immediately starts hitting on my male drifter and that's gay man. I think the great DMX said something about "empty out, reload, and blow more slugs" at the homo thugs.

I can't stand Amir, he's Volt which is the most obnoxious frame to begin with, he's constantly twitching, he doesn't shut the fuck up, and he's voiced by the guy who also did Bird 3, who I find very much endearing.

Arthur is fine, he's pretty bland though, which is just perfect for Excalibur.

Quincy I wouldn't mind except for his accent randomly switching from British to Jamaican to a general American one, his lingo is all over the place, and he does that "I'm too cool for this, I'm leaving" only to come back anyway with an annoying quip and save the day. Fuck him.

Lettie outright tells you early on you're wasting her time, that's not something you should pursue and is not healthy, plus the stereotypes going on there but she's fine overall.

Aoi is friendly and bubbly but a bit too fangirl-y but I do like her okay.

Eleanor seems like the type to murder you in your sleep or worse and I can respect that.

Overall I kind of hated the mission though they do prompt you to help them but you can't skip and it gives you a quicktime event you can't fail, you can sit there for as long as you like, not hold e and you still can't have them die, that's fucking bullshit, why bother with that if you can't fail, why give me the option at all when I do have to save them all and can't let the ones I don't like die.

It feels a lot like cool hip 90s characters written by 40 year old urban liberal Canadians because it is that, and the how do you do fellow kids of it all rubs me the wrong way. Their characters were always more set dressing than this and pretty non intrusive, I ended up liking a lot of them and even the bad ones I didn't mind outside of their practice of giving you Alad V again but this time he's wearing a new hat. The motorcycle seems shoved in, you don't generally need to go fast and far unlike Duviri where you really needed that horse thing to get around, it's literally a vehicle to sell you cosmetic bundles.

Amusingly enough, if you go to Aoi's room and interact with the cashier's computer, you find messages from a "Gregory V." detailing the creation of what would become the Technocyte Coda. Alad V has "Alad V Greg" written on his collar in Corpus speak as far back as U11.

That's how the cookie jars, though at least the devs loved the summon bike anywhere glitch enough to keep it.

Just farmed all the parts for my final missing primes: Xaku, Protea, Sevagoth, and Gauss. Haven't even played Hildryn, Gauss, or Khora yet, because my OCD tendencies won't let me play a prime before I've played the regular version, and those three farms are torture.

Hildryn was super annoying, but is 100% worth because you get pillage for your helminth. And the Khora farm is pretty easy if you wait until a new prime access because people usually just play sanctuary to level.

I actually like Lettie as a character so far. Eleanor and Arthur are cool too. I know that is the contrarian opinion here, but y'all can suck it. Also I haven't touched any of the IM mechanic so opinions might change.

Asked him if he gay, told him i'm not interested, nigger got miffed and logged off lmao, ain't gonna roleplay a faggot, not even in vidya.

Honestly, those chat intereactions are just cringey and time consuming, since i don't really care about any of these people.

Killing shit with Warframe in a spectacular fashion is my source of entertainment, not chat interactions.

Of course you don't need to roleplay as one. :smug:

Once you get Liked with all 6, you can pretty much ignore it.

The true finale for the quest, where everyone lives.

Anyways, my thoughts on the Hex:

Lettie peppering her speech with Spanish annoys me, too. I pretty vividly remember my Spanish teacher telling us not to do that, pick one or the other. Other than that, yet another bitter medic. Boring.

Amir's fine. He reminds me of a couple of friends I had growing up.

Arthur's bland, which seems intentional. Mission accomplished?

Cannot stand Quincy and it's making me not want to build Cyte-09, which isn't fair to the frame.

Aoi and Eleanor I like enough to maybe pursue a romance just to see how cringe it gets.

I hope this doesn't wind up being a trend going forward. I like these characters more when they're just a vendor or mission control when their quest is over.

My biggest issue with the AIM stuff is how the Drifter is somehow chatting like someone who spends all day on Discord, despite the fact that he spent God knows how long trapped in Duviri which is like a medieval themed realm. It threw me off when I talked to Arthur the first time and my Drifter told him what an emoticon was, when it should have been the other way around. It was a missed opportunity to not have him be the hopeless boomer trying to learn an ancient messaging program and gradually getting better at it as you talked to the Hex more. I could understand it a bit better if it were the Operator who was using the AIM, but then they couldn't do the dating sim shit at all. Aoi is worth it, tho.
