Warframe

I was getting really bad framerates in the new tilesets, so I disabled the RT settings (volumetric lighting and fog) which seems to have helped me.
Yeah, but that's just a workaround. I even found people with RTX 4090 running at 30 FPS, which is really, really bad. Luckily, I found some tweaks for DXVK that helped me get more performance.

I should share my appeal to a 14 yr long insta ban for innocuous chat stuff, the fat woman janny working that day rejected my appeal, citing my pet kubrows name of Fatty Dingdongs among others.

I also got banned for saying nigga. Automated. Then I appealed by pretending to be a nigger and got off. Good luck with the kubrow though, fat bitches hate men who don't love fatties.

tldr: Is Warframe worth getting into these days?

I've recently been going through Josh Strife's 'worst mmo' series as background noise, and got to his Warframe video. While watching it I remembered that I had actually tried the game years ago and my experience was almost identical to his: played through the intro segment, got to the end of the intro, got dumped on a planet somewhere with no idea what to really do, did some quest that sent me into a big field, died repeatedly to enemies I couldn't handle, put the game down and never got around to picking it back up. That being said, in the past I've heard people praise the game and I remember liking the actual gameplay shown in the intro, and I'm thinking of starting again.

So, with how far along the game seems to be, is it considered worthwhile to get into these days? Does the gameplay hold up? Is there any indication they are going to move on to Warframe 2 any time soon? Ect, ect, ect...

Also, I noticed that a Warframe community thread existed(https://kiwifarms.st/threads/warframe-community-staff.52884/). How bad is the game pozzed? I rarely get involved in community/forum/reddit slop, is the alphabet bullshit easy to disregard if I just play the game and ignore broader community?

Try to got through the main Starchart & maybe 1999. If it's not for you after that just quit.

INSANELY pozzed. It's really bad.
To reiterate, there are some pozzed things you'll encounter in the story, but you can tune most of them out as needed. Just turn off region chat for your own sanity.
  • Most Warframes are male or female with two exceptions: Xaku and Temple. Xaku's a they because they're a composite of three prototype warframes in the lore, while Temple is explicitly nonbinary (though you can interpret it as a male warframe with his talking female guitar. At least one Warframe content creator got yelled at for calling a spade a spade).
  • Five NPCs are some flavor of gay without player input: one bisexual man, his gay retainer, one bisexual woman, a TiM cyborg, and the guy Temple's based on (who in turn is basically a David Bowie reference).
  • There's a dating sim segment where you can romance one of six characters regardless of your PC's gender, though this is optional and you can remain friends.
  • DE regularly celebrates Legbutt Month, along with cosmetics that are practically free (they do this with seasonal stuff in general), so expect the community to get extra obnoxious in June.

It isn't just the game. It's the playerbase and the mods too.

Like I said, stay the fuck away from the community and mute region chat. If you need a clan, you can go solo.
Legit what I ended up doing. I have all chat turned off, solo dojo and mostly play solo. This worked until I couldn’t take the faggotry of 1999.

I want to murder death kill not play nice with npc feefees.

so news wise. they revealed the next event. the new 61st warframe. th next primeframe. and the next two warframes that are getting heirloom skins.

next event and update coming is Isleweaver. announced at pax east.

so neci rusalka is returning. and the 61st warframe called Oraxia. a spider like warframe. she looks cool. so the event goes like Dominus Thrax notices the murmur invading duviri. so he goes crawling to the drifters to help him repel them. and even allowing them to use their warframes for the first time outside of the circuit.

ALSO. Valkyr is geting a rework. i've been putting some investment into her before knowing of this. so hoping its good.

the next warframe getting a primeframe is Yareli. so we are getting yareli prime. on May 21st. looks cool.

and now. back to Valkyr again. Valkyr and then Vauban are next to get Heirloom skins. Valkyr's heirloom skin is coming on July 21st while Vauban's is scheduled for early 2026

i like the jacket look for him.

Very Promising content.

That is ultimately what made me stop playing. But I still got over 8k hours, did everything I could up to the point I left (post duviri). It is a good game, but DE are also the kind to donate 10k to BLM to virtue signal, celebrate Pride with the community every year etc. It is an ugly community to deal with if you ever mess with official forums or discord(never did discord myself). If you can look the other way and enjoy grinding you will have a good time though.

I played my fill I guess, but tried to play a bit of 1999 after a few months break, and it just didn't resonate.

It's easier to deal with if you just put yourself in the position of not caring about them because a) you can time loop and reset them b) you will eventually leave this time loop and them as a consequence and therefore c) nothing you invest in with these people matter anyway so you can justifying saying/doing anything you want to them in the interest of stopping Wally.

It's psychotic, but if you don't care about portraying your character that way it's bearable.

Also I can't really stand Amir. Or Quincy. Or Lettie. So keeping them at arm's length is extremely easy.

That’s good advice. I opened the first message on that machine thing and just couldn’t. Maybe I should try again.

Bastards have piqued my interest with the valkitty rework - I have serious investment in mine as was one of my first primes and is a favourite. Also the skin is decent and not a travesty like the last one.

Is 1999 optional, or will a future quest be locked behind it? I really don't want to AIM chat with blue-haired, androgynous, diverse Whedon characters.

its required, you are not required to do anything on AIM iirc

nvm I forgot you need aim to get the true ending, youre fucked bud.

They really need to do something about health tank/ armor tanking because it's so fucking worthless. Changing valkr to a armor tank is such a massive nerf that it any other change doesn't matter.
