Gunpla is still for queers

I agree with what you're saying, and what you're saying would also be an interesting and informative write up. Sometimes, especially for new people, being told that YES, you CAN do whatever you want with your miniatures, and heres how to buy 5lbs of texture paste for 25 cents is pretty invaluable. All the information is locked to shit tier youtube videos and fucking reddit, what few nuggets of gold are buried in something titled 'THIS IS HOW YOU DO SLAPCHOP 100% EFFECTIVE" and its a 10 minute video with 4 ads, when zenithal highlighting is easily understood and conveyed if you actually give a shit. A compendium of techniques and products that arent 40k.specific, that isnt fucking REDDIT, and can get hyper autistic men the go ahead to actually do something artistic.

There also seems to be this weird thing, maybe its because warhammer is tide locked to people willing to shell out money (nerds with adult jobs) but that also have 0 artistic talent and havent done anything artistic since they were in kindergarten because drawing outside the lines fucks with their heads, but people are obsessed with recipes and/or the heavy metal style, when you could learn some basic art principals and blow the fuck out of 90% of painters by just being a little original and crazy.

Edit: tl:dr, for every Vince Venterella there are a 100 Midwinter Minis, and sometimes even Vince can be long winded and I dont want to sit through a 30 minute video to explain a concept that can be referenced in a written format.

And what I've been saying is that this same information can be found in books about gunpla and scale modeling as long as it isn't a book by AK, Vallejo, or Ammo which is only made to shill their own products. It was the same problem with the old GW guides that they used to print, it was just sales ads for their products not actually trying to "teach" anything. If you look outside of shit without a space marine on the cover, what you're asking about exists.

If people are so braindead that they can't understand that a book telling them how to paint WW2 tanks in various terrain and states of disrepair also applies to a landraider, rhino, repulsor, knight, etc. when they've been told these resources exist(because yes, some people do work better with a written product than video, and most people producing video can't demonstrate anything worth a shit either) then they're fucking retarded.

Yeah, that's why I've suggested people go to a Dick Blick, Jackson, fucking Michaels, and so on. You want books on color theory? Blick and Jackson will have them. And yes, it's already difficult enough at times to try and explain to people they don't need to buy a spoonful of citadel basing paste for $7 when they can go to Home Depot. The problem is that there is basically zero incentive for a company to produce a book that isn't also just shilling their own bullshit because producing, publishing, and then actually getting it into stores would cost too damned much.

However, repeatedly insisting that everything which isn't labeled especially for grimdark space marine shit as queer, is fucking retarded and doesn't assist anyone and you sound like a faggot complaining that the thing you want exists, but just doesn't have your favorite injection molded plastic on the cover.

Which is why Id be interested in writing one myself for free. Gauging interest in such a product would generally be step one in such a prospect.

I've noticed multiple women are into Gunpla, are there any existing theories on why? They dont seem to watch any of the shows, let alone Universal Century. My only assumption is it's for social media signaling. Which is reasonable in my book, it's not like 40k nerds dont do that, but they typically show that they care for the source material in some form. Is it because the mobile suits look like they have heels on?

I had a wing custom and shining gundam kit back in the day, couldn't tell you what line or grade. I'm half interested in picking up a Tallgeese to see what building them is like in current year.

Retards can't accept that a japanese company makes injection molded plastic models cheaper(and better), has a community where the bell curve for skill in modeling is further ahead, and the company doesn't even bother to make a game for it(they finally announced one earlier this year and then delayed it till next year). All while complaining about yuri in the modern gundam anime series, as if the relationship between Amuro and Char from the original series wasn't loaded with gay overtones. Because as usual, it's more people that don't know what the fuck they're talking about or understand basic shit like not needing to watch the anime or even build the model kits to learn from them.

Whilst still trying to figure out the right purple for me, i painted a Lt Titus that came with a book and a random assassin. Assassin weapon first time doing that kind of weapon effect. Basing can be done whenever. Camera dogshit because dogshit phone. Will continue painting random one offs, mostly the other 3 assassins, until I get that right purple.

A couple of years ago, Gunpla became popular in the west. Vastly superiour kits for a fraction of the price. Fully articulated, no glue required. You don't even need to paint them as coloured plastic made for a pretty good base coat. New technology and techniques pushed the hobby forward, while old techniques from historical scale modelling and makeup/beauty were rediscovered and went mainstream.

GW fanboys, and 40k consoomers in particular, have been seething ever since, flipping out into full blown mouth frothing tard rage whenever they're mentioned. Their products and techniques are verboten unless Citidel makes an inferiour, overpriced version of it.
