In the latest anti-consumer move from an overzealous industry whose greed continually pushes them towards yet another collapse, Warner Bros. Games has announced that rather than further adhering to the standard development philosophy of taking one’s time to produce a new title every few years, they will instead be shifting their focus towards “more always on gameplay through live services, multiplatform and free-to-play extensions”.

Imagine releasing one of the most financially successful games of the year and instead of thinking maybe we should just keep doing what the consumer wants, this is the conclusion you come too.

“Well we got a shit ton of money and continue to do really well with our releases but I was thinking we should fuck that up and screw over our consumer base because well fuck em!”- Some Faggot Retard Jew Executive Probably

I love how they mention the success of Hogwarts Legacy, a single player experience with no real live service features to speak of and then decide to instead pivot into going the route of EA or Ubisoft in that every game has to be a live service and also a "forever game" that demands you never stop playing it, because their other service games like Multiversus did so well.

I guess this was the natural next step in going from beloved single player Batman Arkham to looter-shooter-esque Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad.

Retards.

Can't wait for whatever retard proposed this to tapdance away once he realizes they are not Bungie and Destiny isn't so easily imitable.

I guess suits like changing shit randomly so they have something to say in the reports. Shareholders won't even know a thing until they're holding the bag. Not my problem, I can just not play WB games.

Did they not see Bungie, the only successful live service which all these other companies try to copy and fail, just implode because of live service garbage?

Considering WB owns the DC Cinematic Universe, this makes total sense. Mimicking losing strategies is what they do best.

Hitman tho
correct me if I'm wrong since I have only played Hitman 2, but isnt the 'live service' part of that more like continual updates, but the game is still a 'boxed product' as Bungie called it? What all these companies are after is a constant cashflow for little work like what Bungie had with Destiny, and I guess what Fortnite has, but that's dying I hear.

Oh. This is why LS games make shit confusing and complicated.
