Was Chimu the original 2chan?

Chimu or Chimor was a historical kingdom in what in now Peru that was somewhat of a rival to the Inca before being conquered by them.
The reason why I asked is because it's capital was a city called Chan Chan. So was the place a predecessor to the Chans?
