I know there's a trend of Zoomers claiming Helen Keller never existed as in she was a fictional character

But I'm talking about her "accomplishments" being just her teacher, Anne Sullivan, puppeteering her and making her say stuff. How can a girl blind and deaf from 19 months old learn words just from phonemes that she has no reference to? Like the famous "water" thing, she's literally just finger spelling W A T E R into Helen's hand. Those letters have no meaning to a deaf and blind person. It'd be one thing if she associated physical water with the specific ASL SIGN for water, but she supposedly solely communicated through finger spelling.
I would prefer her story to be real but it's just so beyond belief that she supposedly did the work to earn a Bachelor's degree and write books.
