Was the push to get women and niggers into STEM actually designed to delay or prevent the technological singularity?

Women and LGBT were not widely accepted in predominantly male fields until the late 1980s, long past the beginning of current cultural and technological stagnation. I don't doubt they have affected progress, however the largest cause is the end of competition with Russia, lack of war efforts, humane laws, and patent trolling that ceases advancement and discoveries. In the old days, scientists could steal the brain of Albert Einstein and get away with it. You could experiment on niggers with the government's blessing. Not anymore. Now it's all about being fair, giving consent, and "ethics" in science.

We can no longer abort babies enmasse to speedrun immortality research, we can't just kidnap some blacks and inject them with an experimental virus, and we can't lose nuclear bombs in the middle of North Carolina anymore. When people go missing, their smart phones tell the world. It's all slow-going from here, boyos.

Was the singularity ever a real possibility in our lifetimes?
2035 - 2050 was always the estimate I heard. With quantum computing the final piece of the puzzle needed to achieve the required speeds. Basically we pretty much have the hardware, but it's looking more and more like the last few steps will not be achievable. Then again it was always pretty much witchcraft, and unforeseen/unpredicted leaps were what kept Moore's law on track, so who knows. Speech recognition came much sooner than most predicted, so I guess we'll see...or not see, as I suspect (although I plan on making it either to 2050 or whatever point before then it becomes obvious that it's an impossibility in my lifetime).
