I started Wegovy two weeks ago and it's been amazing. Is this what being normal is like? I'm not hungry 24/7, I don't want to eat again like 20 minutes after eating a full meal, right now I've still got cravings but they're not as bad as they usually are.

I've lost 13 pounds over the past 2 months, now hovering around 180 pounds. I don't have a ton of weight to lose (goal is 145 right now) but I have fatty liver (which Wegovy has shown to help with) and I do not want that to progress. The only problem is that I replaced the booze (2 years sober) and cigarettes (workin on it) with food. It felt like fucking torture trying to eat healthy and especially eat LESS until I started Wegovy.
Exercising, which I normally fucking hate, is going better than I expected. Got a small treadmill a month ago, and I'm trying to do 30 minutes minimum on it and 10 minutes with a dumbbell after, 5-6 days a week. It's been FUCKING HOT most of the time though, so I've dipped down to 3-4 days here and there, but something's better than nothing, right? I'm finally starting to not be totally wiped out by the 30 minute mark, and the dumbbell reps are getting easier.

The best part though is being able to run with my dog when she wants to without immediately being winded. She runs out of breath before I do now!

The toughest part about losing weight is portion control and not going hard on sweets. There are some days where it’s like a cascade of bad decisions where I eat a snack, then I eat another snack, and next thing I know, I’ve eaten nearly 1,000 calories in a fit of fake hunger. Overall, my fitness routine keeps it at bay and lets me go into a deficit, but I have to get my eating under control.

I will preface this by saying that my fingertips are currently stained a faint purple color and there is a small, empty bowl next to me.

You can get big ass bags of frozen blueberries at the store for a very low price. Make sure you get the unsweetened ones, because the sweetened kind has a syrup on them that's super sugary and roughly doubles the calorie count. 1 cup (around 250 mL) of unsweetened frozen blueberries has less than 100 calories. If you ever get bored of blueberries, try other fruits like strawberries, mango, or cherries. There's also mixed fruit too, but I don't ever buy them because I like to keep the different colors separate.

The crunch and sweetness helps to satisfy cravings. The fact that it's many small items of food, rather than larger pieces, helps your brain to feel more full. If you care about getting your hands dirty, you can put them in a coffee cup or something similar and eat them like that.

Well, I made it. I went from just under 300 to just under 200 in about a year with zepbound, exercise and lifestyle change.
The hard part has been getting back into shape, which my wife has been helping me with since she's a viking beast. Her fucking cardio is outrageous, but that comes with the territory when you wear heavy stuff and chase niggers and tweakers all day I suppose.
The zepbound was a tremendous help, as a guy it was a little bit embarrassing to realize that I have an eating disorder. I binge eat because as someone who used to dabble in drugs and drink like a frat boy, I enjoyed excess.
I cut the booze and reduced the soda greatly, and I feel like 25 pounds of this was just beer weight falling off. I did keto and now I'm the master at cooking boneless skinless chicken breasts and beef hundreds of different ways. Traded in my sweets for fruits like watermelon, mangoes and pineapple.
Like my doctor said, every little change makes a big difference.

Does having a workout buddy actually help?
My biggest hurdle to going to the gym is actually just committing because I know how bored I easily get during working out.
Honestly I need to lose weight I've gained all the weight I lost back and I've noticed I'm having like a harder time breathing overall. I get winded so easily now.

It truly does. The one time I did have one, it felt like I had accountability to show up and do the reps, plus a gym buddy can help with making sure form is good

The ADHD community calls it body doubling. The presence of someone else in the same room with you when you both know the goal is “to do X” really does help. Because they can see you getting off task, and human nature says we tend to behave differently when under supervision.

Going with someone to a place can help you stop doing whatever it is earlier than planned and going home, for the same reason.

Adding in a financial penalty for not working out with your buddy helps too. If you skip a day, without a good reason (like being sick or family emergencies) you give them $5 in cash that day. Or a $5 gift card to somewhere. Something you need to have on hand especially for that, is a pretty good motivation. For both of you, especially if they’re starting out too.

You can even do this with a remote friend, if you want to work out at home. But the honor system is harder to stay honest about IME. Even with photos of a workout on a smart watch, because the watch doesn’t know the difference between jacking off and running.

This is a rather small achievement compared to others itt, but after difficult life events last year I gained quite a bit of weight (up to 10st), but after properly committing to dieting and walking lots the past few months I've finally gotten back to my previous weight of 9st :)

Any victory against something you struggle with, no matter how small that thing feels like to you, is to be celebrated.

Congratulations fren! You deserve this. :semperfi:
