Well now that I've given up and installed tor to access KF, what are other good sites?

I have absolutely no idea what happens on tor sites except the super illegal stuff. But since Kiwifarms has been delisted from the clearnet I caved and installed tor, and i might as well see what others may or may not use it for.
i will insist i'm not a fed, but feel free to not talk about sites you're not comfortable sharing.

darknet markets
buy drugs, counterfeit money, forged documents, stolen credit cards, etc
theoretically also guns and ammo, but there's a LOT of scamming and fake bullshit going on with that, because authorities are watching that much closer than anything else, and also because shipping firearms by mail undetected is a lot more difficult than other types of contraband

I think I had forgotten what tor was used for. I was treating it as a backup system for legitamate but politically divisive sites. Looking into it more I'm a bit concerned about the airtight control the tor organizer has over the browser, and the sheer restrictions the mobile app has. When kiwifarms is back on the clearnet I'll likelt delete tor, those are depths Ihave no interest in plumbing. All my wishes for the world will mostly happen in time without my intervention anyways

What restrictions?
Inability to remember logins, for one. I recognize their rationale for removing that ability but I would like them to respect my choice on the matter. Which is saying something considering my opinionon people who choose to use unsupported versions of Windows on the internet instead of keeping it offline, upgrading, or switching to a supported version of Linux. The desktop site let's you enable that but not themobike app, and trying to find an alternative shows how strong they have a monopoly on tor browsers, for something that's clearly a hack job forked from Firefox, with the settings full of vestigial options that do nothing because they are fundamentally disabled.

Ah, fair enough. Not a feature I've ever used, on any browser. I can see how that would be annoying.

Great tip! I had this same directory back in the day but lost it.

Most Tor sites are either illegal stuff or honeypots. You need far more self awareness to browse in here. I would recommend mostly just using regular websites and having tor as a security layer only. And of course the tor version of clearnet sites when they exist like with Kiwifarms.

The mobile Tor app doesn't work at all its a leaking mess and not hiding your identity unless you rooted your phone and installed a custom os....and even then i would not trust it,only use the pc browser bundle or Tails. There are some nice community's on Tor like 4chan but free from tryhards and teenagers but its all a bit of a wild west, its rather easy to walk in a DEA honeypot and see horrifying shit.

The tor android app not even hiding your identity is even worse. Pernament private mode does very little to protect your privacy and just makes access more inconvenient. Poking around the app gives me huge doubts as to their programming ability, as obvious features would be being able to disable some of the more strict privacy abilities on a site-by-site bases and blocking access to linked assets in cases. The impression I get is the developers are not passionate about their product and how it can make the world better, they just want something slapped together that lets them view kiddie porn.

I was hoping I'd find out about more sites like this one that are wealth of useful information but have unreliable access on the clearnet. That is unrealistic, and I'm glad kiwifarms is accessible again.

From what i gathered it has something to do with the way android works and thus impossible to get TOR watertight on that platform i think its more of an afterthought and a proxy service on your phone than something you should rely on for privacy.
If you really want privacy Tails os seems the best way to go, which is only for pc.
But if you want to spent some time crawling over the onion there are sites like http://torlinkv7cft5zhegrokjrxj2st4hcimgidaxdmcmdpcrnwfxrr2zxqd.onion which has a collection of links which are "safe". But Tor is much like the clearnet 20 years ago and filled with edgy stuff with a rotten.com vibe, scammers, and porn of everything possible but sometimes you find something awesome like a Cave diving journal, or a community with gone off the grid people.
