It’s a classic, but I’ll be real it can be a hard read. Not really just the content, but if you aren’t used to his writing style it can take some getting used to.

It's probably the timing. I was fed up with misery porn at the time.

Jim and David Bowie were not related.

Nobody's perfect, but Wendi writes out notes; might be wise to double check on proper nouns. Or where the emphasis lands on Spanish words.

(I liked the floofy hair better, but de gustibus etc.)

So far the book is very based. Like that Wendigoon casually drops a five hour video without any fanfare, while other creators self destruct over such projects.

Well that's really something, glad that this book is getting a renewed interest around the net
Book is a blast btw, read it (or listen the audiobook, is very good)

I'd definitely recommend reading the book first (which to be fair is also his take in the video) because it really is difficult to capture how the violence hits you like a truck on a first reading. Captain White's failed filibuster early in the book doesn't get too much discussion time, but the brutality of what happens is really effective and sets the tone for what is to come. The Kid is also a pretty ambiguous character, which he also talks about in the video, and your view of him will be probably be colored one way if you watch the video first.
 
Got into the hour mark and decided to order the book online along with The Road, hopefully will get here before the heat death of the universe.
