I was told that they apparently just pose and use photoshop for the thumbnails, so I don't have a clue why they go out of their way to make them look like they WERE made with AI, it makes them look way worse and cheaper-looking than their base versions.

Pangram recently released (an extremely reliable in my testing) AI image detection tool, which even marks which parts of an image is generated, and it flags the entire image, including the "reference":

Based on my own testing of Pangram e. g. just upscaling would not mark everything like this, if everything is dark red 100% of it came from some diffusion model. When I've tested with upscaled images you get splotches of red where the diffusion model filled in details, and in combined images it marks just the generated parts.

So I think the thumbnail maker is 100% full of shit.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=pv7V0tRXjr8Not sure if this title is promising or not. The chapter title for the last half or so is 'Dying of cringe' so maybe they go hard on it
What is up with that ad read, Hunter is half asleep, I could barely hear him, and IDK why they are advertising nicotine alternative products (that is supposed to give you energy) when none of the hosts smoke.

The guys think someone calling a woman a bitch or a whore makes them some manosphere, red-pilled, incel. Every story that has a dude be even slightly antagonistic towards a woman is an incel story.
You can't use racially insensitive slurs in your white supremacy story, you can't use derogatory terms towards women in your awkward loner story, can't have graphic murder and rape in your deranged killer story. What is the point of writing for reddit?

I believe the composite image is by hand but his "upscaling" step is basically just having the AI create the image recreate the image so it is cohesive and fits the tone. I wouldn't put much faith on AI detection tools, how can it tell it is AI vs a real photo?

When you think about it, the Monument Mythos has a better claim to the title of "Incel Horror", given how the creator trooned out shortly after Wendigoon's video on the series.

This story is pretty good. I agree with hunter and Isaiah that it does need some reworking, the constant using of the characters name like the author wants us to make sure that we know his name is Jack gets annoying. The justification of "they're all going to die anyway, so why not get something good out of it" is too childish for this immortal prophet to genuinely use. I'm also iffy on how to feel about what the seer has Jack do. When he kills the girl at the beginning I can understand the justification of her being a bad girlfriend that will eventually hurt Jack, but then they turn into just ruining people's lives for seemingly no reason. However, the ending reveal that it was all to torture this one guy so he kills Jack and his wife was very fun. I also enjoyed that our character is seemingly never forced to do what he's told to do.

They constantly bring this up in episodes about old creepypastas, but their theory about why new "creepypastas" are longer is dumb. To me, it isn't because people want longer stories. They're longer because retards have begun seeing "creepypastas" as a way to jumpstart their writing career, so they post their crappy novel on no sleep hoping that either a publisher or Hollywood sees it. Also, I hate every time Hunter says "I just want something to chew on" because all his ideas would just bog down the story and make it worse. No, I don't want to hear about the monster's backstory and how he had a traumatic childhood. I want to hear a fun story about a prophet that torments people because he thinks he's an artist. Practically every story they read that tries to do what hunter wants gets ruined because now we're taking a 10 paragraph break to learn about why there's spooky stuff happening. Tommy Taffy and Stolen Tongues are great examples for this. Both explain that the parents also experienced the same stuff, and Hunter and Isaiah ripped on both of them for how stupid it makes the parents seem.

This idea that any guy that's an awkward loner is immediately an incel is also stupid, and the story wouldn't be better if it leaned more into that direction. The story is good because we can understand why our main character decides to listen to the prophet. He's a friendless loser that's stuck in life, and now he has someone telling him that they can help him have a better life. An incel wouldn't be interested because they all believe there's no chance for them to ever win in life, so what's the point in trying.

The Tommy Taffy one is the most egregious because there is a WHOLE PREQUEL that explains why the dad didn't stand up to Taffy because his father did and it got him killed and made his and his mom's lives 100x worse and Wendi and Meat still hate on the dad for being a pussy.

his father did and it got him killed and made his and his mom's lives 100x worse
Their argument does make sense though. The author established that you can technically kill Tommy. So why doesn't the neighborhood just kill him when he comes back a week later? It can be too hard to just organize the weekly Tommy Taffy bonfire with the neighborhood

It's not a good plan, Tommy comes back meaner everytime. Not to mention does he NEED to come back in a week exactly? Unless the neighborhood maintains a 24/7 anti Tommy milita till the end of time all Tommy needs to do is break his pattern to catch them by suprise and get his revenge.

It's all just blatant allegory to generational abuse anyways. You need to make up an excuse for not ending it so there can be a story.

No one mentioned it yet but the boys said they might read Jeff the killer vs Slender man in the future
Which is a story I listened to when I was young and one line stuck with 14 year old me for how stupid it was
They're like fighting and Jeff goes
"You think that's tough! My dad's belt hurt more!!" Or something like that
Which makes no sense because the father is never shown to abusive in the orginal story

I was especially confused last episode where Wendigoon (Or was it hunter? I can't remember) wanted the story to be longer and suddenly be about the protagonist killing off a whole band and/or serve as the prologue a the bigger story, when not only would that have been an ENTIRELY different story that would probably get old halfway through, the vibe of a short and sweet kinda-campy oneshot was pretty easy to pick up and why I liked it in the first place. I feel like creepypasta's at its best when it just cuts out the fat and gets to the point, then ends while the scares are still fresh instead of trying to be its own book or be top rated on nosleep and r/creepcast.

I don't think it's more complicated than "I enjoyed [THING], so I want there to be more of [THING]."

It's why I liked how people are saying it is like a tales from the crypt episode. Creepypasta should feel like an episode in an anthology series with how short and punchy it is.

E: maybe like one or two more videos on this left and that'll be that. Thank God.

The virgin HOA vs the chad anti-Tommy militia

It looks more like the thumbnail artist just prompted "create a work in progress intermediary", e. g. the lighting in the "composite" was way too uniform.

I don't know if Pangram has published much about how the image detection works, but based on testing it works exceedingly well, even detecting small generated items in the background of compositing images (from some earlier research iirc by SRI at ETH just looking at statistical patterns in generated vs. natural images works very well, so I'd assume it's something like that).

I trust Pangram 10x more than some thumbnail "artist" that has been repeatedly caught in a lie, if you don't trust it try it yourself with your own images that you know the ground truth about: https://www.pangram.com/image-detection
