I know some people didn't like it but I really enjoyed Ensorcelled in the Earth back in June which was followed by My Sugar Daddy Asks Me for Weird Favors which, while it wasn't good, was probably the best version of a 'Rules' story. Half Price Voodoo Shop was mostly fun, though it got a little too reddit at the end. After that was Mother Horse Eyes which is my personal favorite story they've done. After that was two 'eh' episodes followed by Fleshgait towards the end of July which is another one I really like

Since then there hasn't been anything great, I did enjoy Cupcakes but I can't say how much of that was ironic vs unironically enjoying it, if it didn't have the backdrop of a children's show I don't think I could have cared. The one about waking up in the hospital and everyone being off afterwards was an interesting idea but lacking in execution

The only episode that I didn't especially enjoy from this summer/early fall was The Dead Girl in My Yard. Story just wasn't for me and there wasn't much in the way of amusing bants

As far as the most recent episode goes, F- story but A+ episode. I finished it an hour ago and I'm still chuckling to myself about that retarded ending

It is a shit excuse, this show has been going on long enough that the producer should know that the hosts find child/sexual abuse uncomfortable and the best trainwreck stories are pure schlock. This story was full of child/sexual abuse but very little schlock for the hosts to grab on to and have fun with.
Just a theory, but maybe the producer had the idea that since Wendigoon is having a kid he might have more of a reaction toward child abuse stories.
I couldn't fathom being that fucking weird to basically ask an expectant father to react to child abuse, but this producer seems anything but normal.

I enjoy Elias Witheriws writing but the story has little schlock to riff off of. At its core, creepcast is actually pretty funny and mixes comedy with horror.

Basically maybe have a guy actually read the fucking stories in their entirety before adding them to a list. Or maybe just have someone who is an avid reader and can like, idk, discern what stories are at the core.

When I was a kid I thought Kony 2012 was about a campaign for a 3rd party political candidate for the 2012 US election.

and to be fair if you looked at the posters you'd probably think the same thing.

So is there any new information that wasn't in the internet historian videos?

EDIT: Wendi needs to fire his researchers and writers if they are citing THIS video and taking it as face value.

AFAIK, the IH video didn't go into Forgotten Children actually doing something for Uganda's kids, instead of camping trips and astroturfing. I assume because it happened after the main guy stepped down.

I am saddened that Wendi didn't mention the cringeworthy dance music video, straight out of bootleg of High School Musical.

Edit, new main channel upload. Another Arg walkthrough.

It's better to hear the Internet Historian version. Kony 2012 is ironic in seemingly being the one case where it wasn't pure grift, the people in the movement actually cared, and the result was getting dogpiled from the professional grifters getting mad for losing revenue, and ideological purists who have never gone beyond slacktivism themselves. Especially ironic is arguing it makes Africa look like a shithole and immediately following that the issue of Uganda is being beset by ANOTHER mass killing terrorist organization.

In the end it doesn't matter, just one more Infinity niggers movement that seemingly lost their prominence one the grifters realized they could get directly through USAID rather than going through the trouble of guilt tripping your grandma to throw her life saving at a fictional niglet.

Wow, this story fucking sucked. If I'm going to be forced to feel horribly uncomfortable by the writing the least it could is not insult my intelligence with a "It uhh, was a gas gremlin or something" in the ending
I think I'm probably the only person here who actually liked the twist in Something Wrong with Wendigoon, and it's not even that I liked it so much as when the story introduced the mom as submissive and the dad as "old fashioned" my eyes rolled into the back of my skull as I figured it was yet another abuse metaphor and the usual redditor slop (what's the thing they say about how in the 50s everyone was miserable and abused and closeted homosexuals?). While I wasn't expecting the twist to be a doppelganger gas goblin from hell that lynches children and brickfucks women, I certainly prefer that to a hamfisted metaphor about abuse represented through supernatural means and it annoyed me how the guys acted as if the presence of such a subversive and overused theme would somehow make the story more meaningful.

God damn, when was the last time they read an even Okay story? I feel like everything they've been talking about the past couple months (aside from Cupcakes) recently has been "meh" slop, or dogshit that's just barely being carried by the guys' riffing on it.
Slop and dogshit are bad but for some reason I really can't stand the almost "high concept" ones like Red Tower or Ensorcelled where it's full of prose and world building and something about that just loses me, Hoarder Houses and Dead Yard Girl also apply and I could not fucking stand Mother Horse Eyes. I think I prefer the "mystery" stories like Fleshgait and Hidden Webpage, even Dared My Best Friend; a story where something's wrong and you want to see how it ends, with Penpal serving as one of the best examples. Tangentially related but I wish they'd return to the Creep TV videos, a visual story like Marble Hornets is much better at getting you hooked than a YA novel about falling into a river and waking up in an alternate universe where you're gay or a story about Gabriel coming down to earth to stop Hitler and getting captured and poked by the government with cattle prods.

I've had similar thoughts to their videos on more "legitimate" stories.
I don't want to watch Creepcast break down Stephen King or faggot redditors trying to be Stephen King.
They're much more entertaining when they're covering CREEPYPASTAS. Which I thought was the entire point of being named CREEPCAST.

That's not to say they shouldn't give praise or highlight actual great stories written ostensibly by and for the internet, like Penpal or Borrasca, but shit like Tommy Taffy or Urbanspook should just be mocked and laughed at for how tryhard they are and it really doesn't do them favors when they try to defend shit like that. Edgyness for edgyness sake should ALWAYS be mercilessly ridiculed.

The story is still dogshit. The hell goblin bit should have been introduced in the second act so readers can have something to chew on instead of being a footnote on the climax that came out of left field. As it stands, the story has nothing going on and it isn’t smart enough with it's writing to be engaging or dumb enough to sit back and enjoy the ride.

I kinda get it, I'm usually fine with a purple prose narration if it paints a good picture, but when characters get way to poetic and start throwing out $10 words left and right that's when I check out.

Sure, but it seems like they are already scratching the bottom of the barrel for creepy pastas and that pit is seemingly bottomless, youtube horror video is a lot shallower and you could cover all the good ones in at most a dozen episodes. Not to mention Wendi has probably seen all of them and is friends with most of the creators, fangirl wendigoon is the worst wendigoon by far to watch. So we will have quality content with wendi sperging out and being obnoxious followed by absolute analog horror slop.

In all honesty I'd prefer like five Jeff The Killers with them having fun riffing it over one Feed The Pig where they're sucking the author's dick and pretending there's any substance to it.

When the Ensorcelled author writes about sick family members and grieving a dead mother, which feels like is a theme in every single story of his they’ve done, it actually reads like a guy who is intimately familiar with those concepts and is using writing as a creative outlet to his real emotions. I don’t know if he actually had his mom die of cancer IRL or something, I assume he does because like I said the repeating theme and also the clear sincerity in it.

When this Elias guy writes about child abuse, it’s the most schlocky, exploitative torture porn garbage you can find. Anyone who’d suffered even the mildest forms of child abuse can read his work and raise a brow at how tacky and unrealistic the portrayal is. There’s no way this guy was abused and this is his coping mechanism, if he does claim to have been abused, I bet he’s one of those r/raisedbynarcissists faggots. It’s so inauthentic and cringe.

tl;dw: Group of young adults make ritual snuff films in bumfuck, nowhere USA. Can't see the point of why even talk about it besides being an """arg""" (ie, being out of order and not saying explicitly what the plot is), and getting yeeted off youtube.

Gotta get cash for Wendibaby's college fund.

Including the gas goblin just makes it undeniably clear that its raison d'être was simply to be torture porn. If it didn’t have it one could at least try to argue that the author was aiming (and failing badly) to deliver a story about how abuse is le bad (obviously that still wouldn’t be the true intent, but there’d at least be some wiggle room to play devil’s advocate. Also, it goes without saying, that even if this really were an attempt to say “abuse is le bad” that that is one of the most trite messages of all time). With all that said, I’m sure happy there was a gas goblin, frankly made the story worth reading on the pod for that ridiculously retarded plot twist alone.

There’s only so much analog and arg sloppa to talk about, he was bound to start scraping the bottom of the barrel at some point.

I'm sorta new to the ARG stuff, but I just found one titled #weirdbirds, I have no idea if it's popular or not, but it might be pretty interesting for the boys to take a look at. It's dinosaur related with some mimicry involved, seems pretty cool so far.

There needs to be a term for faux-ARGs like this or Mother Horse Eyes. If you're not in a forum with a bunch of other spergs, calling phone numbers you've arrived at by vague clues and Batman math and trying to get one forum member to drive three hours to check out an address, it's not an ARG.

It's still a genre (and a popular one), just not "ARG."

I thought that using a decaying raccoon as a measurement of the passage of time was fun, though.
