Why obsess over rainbow flags on church doors?
For the exact same reason you would "obsess" over a Star of David on the door of a mosque. The thing that it represents is in complete opposition to the message of the institution. That's not to say that I think it's impossible to be Christian and gay at the same time, but it is definitely impossible to be Christian and an adherent to modern LGBTQIA+ ideology, which is what that flag represents these days. They are literally, diametrically opposed on a large number of key issues, and the only way to attempt to reconcile them is to just take the small number of compatible pieces of one of them and glue them onto the other one. It's not even about dislike or distaste either, it's about shit like the Bible explicitly commanding against gay sex or the Bible explicitly saying "your body is a temple" within the context of not altering/desecrating yourself, both of which are things that are explicitly endorsed by LGBTQIA+.

Anyway, barring some serious autism I don't think anyone can really make a case that Wendigoon isn't at least a normie Christian, but I don't think he knows as much about Christianity as he likes to suggest. Not to take pot shots, but if the level of research he has done into the Bible has the same accuracy as the level of research he puts into his videos I can definitely see how he might have some fundamental misunderstandings about the nature of what is and isn't sinful and what to do in response to it. But, then again, most Christians aren't very well educated on Christianity because most believers in any religion aren't very well educated on their religion because religions are extremely complex and most people just don't have the time to care.

While people in this thread are phrasing their concerns through the lens of Christianity, I think they'd be stating those concerns about any creator regardless of their religion. Nobody wants to see somebody they like cozying up to a person of low moral integrity, or worse. People are just a little bit more insistent about it because of the aesthetic of Christianity that Isaiah presents himself with.

I do.

At the very least if they were a dedicated Christian, I would think they would no longer identify as a homosexual, and choose not to engage in those behaviors or activities.

This is a bit of a weird topic and depends on exactly how based you are on the topic of the DSM and/or how far you wanna dive into the exact particulars of the various commands against things like sodomy and masturbation.

In many churches, there is often an allowance for sin done under the compulsion of mental illness, i.e. someone with severe bipolar disorder committing suicide out of despair is not necessarily an unforgivable sin as it would be for a healthy person because we understand that they're not really able to think properly due to their illness. If we consider exclusive homosexuality to be a severe mental disorder similar to OCD (which, frankly, it can easily be argued that it is) then so long as the person isn't trying to spread their sin around to others, is sorry about it, receives confession or whatever their equivalent is, and otherwise lives a moral life, there's a fair argument to be made that they wouldn't be judged as being irredeemable.

Doesn't mean you have to watch men kiss or legalize pride parades of whatever, but I do think if you accept that exclusive homosexuality is basically a mental disorder then you have to give it wiggle room for what people do in private.

And, of course, if you wanna get super jewish about it AKA try to work your way around the exact wording of the laws, you can also likely find some weird non-anal sex activity that isn't actually a very technical sin under the old laws because Onanism was actually about Onan not knocking up his sister or whatever. Also separate beds. Personally I don't think it's a good idea to try to rules-lawyer fucking GOD but that doesn't stop some people.

Hyperbole aside, no church in its right mind flies any flag as nothing stands above God. What we are seeing from the radical left and the regressive progressive who've infiltrated culture, including much of the LGBTQ movement, cause a rift in the United Methodists, and completely taken over Quakerism is a twisted mirror of the spiteful moral panics of the 60's-90's and even the early 00's that was aimed at gays, punks, goths, D&D during the Satanic Panic. Absurd in hindsight, just like much of today's push from the other side. All I'm saying is if we stopped obsessing over mass evangelizing like narcisstic preachers, dropped supperficial markers of who is Christian, and treated spirtuality with the intimacy of sacredness it deserves; through genuine connection, authenticity, and open dialogues instead of my way or the highway maybe more people would actually listen and open up to it. Rather than escalating cultural clashes and division that we are seeing explosively released in culture. Honestly, might be too late, no one listens to the fool; they just repeat the same patterns for power over others. That's the Lucifer part; the pride and lust that lurks skin deep in religion itself. Just as it exists in the LGBTQIA+P

Until proven wrong, I just think Wendi is incredibly fucking stupid. I don't think he's secretly evil, malicious, or not Christian. I just think he's a really dumb guy.

Now with the weirdos and weird stuff he's involved himself with over the last like half a year or so, I do understand the secret sicko allegations. Just until they are proven I'm residing in the "He's an idiot" cope.

I think wendigoon made friends in his early internet days with people who were closer to his brand of weird, and then those people spiralled into degeneracy in a way that doesn’t really affect him. He’s said before that he finds his relationship with God to be personal not evangelized, so this whole debate about “is he a true Christian?” Is fairly retarded because there’s no one true way of being Christian, it’s a spectrum as gay as that sounds.

There’s also way too many people being judgemental cunts about what a guy does with his money (whether you think he earns what he makes is irrelevant, it’s the money he has and if I had money for a house cleaner I would jump at that in a moment. Fucking hate house work).

You don’t have to give him money, he doesn’t owe you anything in his content. I agree that his latest stuff has been lazy, but I also think that he feels pressure to keep the channel going even though he’s obviously exhausted his own personal interest topics.

Just my shitty take

I get that I'm on Reddit Farms and all, but I think I'll wait until there's actual evidence Wendigoon's a Deviant/Fake Christian rather than relying on guilt by association from thread tourists.

Shit, he never did complete the cryptids iceberg, has he?
He was really phoning it in on the cryptid iceberg, and it was showing. Retooling his arbitrary rating system was a sign; he was trying to force an enthusiasm that wasn't there.

From that and the second channel videos, it turns out it's hard to fake being a genial dork who gets excited about things.
I've only seen this movie once before. I think it was the Redux version. It was a long time ago when I was a little shit and I thought it was an overhyped and bizarre war movie. Now not being a little shit and knowing what it's supposed to represent I am so enraptured with this film.
I was very lucky in that the first time I saw Apocalypse Now, it was on a big screen in the dark and everything. It was a lecture hall pretending to be a theater for a classic film night, but still. I was a little shit too but it gave me a case of the feels.

It's not that I'm mad at the damn kids and their phones; it sucks for them to not have that experience of being alone in the dark with only an epic and your thoughts about it. Not every movie is worth the effort, but it's really not an experience you can replicate with a phone.

It'd be interesting if Wendi went on a cinema kick. There are plenty of movies with sound, in color, that are just too old for The Kids to even think of watching without a guide.

Of course I say that now, but I'd be yelling at the screen every time Wendi messed up the pronunciation of "Aguirre."

An entire generation has grown up completely incapable of having their own thoughts about anything. They wait for a youtuber to give them an opinion on a piece of media and then parrot whatever that opinion is. The vast majority of people who make memes or essays about Blood Meridian, for example, have never read the book. At best they listened to the audiobook on Youtube, but listening to someone narrate a book in the background while you do other activities isn't the same as taking the time to sit down and take in the piece of media you're consuming. A not insignificant amount of young people do not even watch TV shows or movies, and instead consume it entirely through clips via Youtube Shorts.

At the risk of sounding old: Kids are definitely getting stupider. I refuse to believe we were anywhere near this retarded when we were younger.

I remember being an idiot as a kid, but I definitely had a much longer attention span than The Youth of Today.

I wonder if that trend holds for non-screen activities. Are modern unsupervised kids lighting more fires and breaking more windows, because they don't have the attention span for digging three-foot-deep holes or breaking an ankle on ramshackle BMX jumps?

I think that's the bigger part of it too. Audiences are aging out of certain content and I'm seeing less and less two hour video essays overall. I'm seeing loads of high production, solo, channels though that max at around the 30-40 minute mark now a day. Fact of the matter is, the younger generation's attention span is nearly as short as Vine videos now. I knew a kid, they were legally an adult but at a certain age, everyone's a kid. They said they had ADHD but I noticed their distractions always centered around their phone. They'd scroll through their entire lunch break ending up eating at their desk because they watched only content. They are addicts and don't even realize it. That's what the YouTube crowd is going to become as a majority. As much as I miss the icebergs I don't think they'll work like they used to.

Nah, they are doing more extreme things for "content" like the Tide Pod challenge or firing a .50 cal at a stack of books against someone's chest. It's pretty bonkers.
