Wendigoon Thread

  • The Kiwi Farms was targeted with a historic DDoS attack last week. Confirmed reports of 2.8Tbps on an individual provider, topping 4.8Tbps when known volumes are added together, and possibly up to 8Tbps if the attacker is believed. This is the third of fourth largest recorded.

Original thumbnail was of a black girl
Takes it down due to low click rate
Reuploads it with a thumbnail of a white boy
Click rate improves

I'm actually being kind of serious. He takes down the latest creepcast too but didn't share the analytics screen for it in the community post like he did with his main channel. I wonder if he thought the thumbnail was hampering it but didn't want to just change it and get some racism accusations (also he needed time to get a new thumbnail made) so he made up a story about a youtube glitch and took it down. Did anyone else complain about the youtube glitch?

He's the only person I saw really talk about it. Don't tell me... there was no glitch and it was just his videos doing poorly, but he's not used to that so there had to be another reason!?!?

Was watching Hunter stream the Oregon trail video game today and a dad with a newly born child who was struggling to find daycare for them sent 100 dollars and all I could think about was like, these people make something close to 60k each a month and a dad raising a kid in this economy is sending money to them? Why are the donations even on? Why do they need more money? It's just greed man.
There's the meme that the kind of people who send superchats (specially for parasocial-tier streamers) make up things like terminal illnesses and having their own families for attention. Nonetheless, if you have 100 freedom dollars in this economy and your first thought is to spend it so some schmuck with more Internet points than can read your name and your message, you probably didn't deserve that Benjamin to begin with. Dents are everywhere and some sadly have the paychecks to do stupid shit like this regularly.

I managed to watch the original upload, but was there an actual reason why he uploaded it again? His pinned comment is just a plug for his sponsor, and there's no updates in the description as to why he reuploaded it.

He made a main channel post too, it looks to me more like it just wasn’t counting views after the initial push out or something, even if it weren’t being promoted it would still be growing in views.

Ah, I guess that makes sense. I assumed he made some errors or something in the script and had to edit some stuff out. I wonder if it's really true that putting Asha Degree as the thumbnail really prevented clicks, ha.

On one hand I find the fear mongering over wither Mr goon will troon out or get into drugs annoying
On the other hand I was a fan of ethan ralp and nick rekieta and thought they would always be good guys, so yeah I'll just keep my mouth shut and just hope he won't go down the same path

He sponsored a soulless cereal brand with corporate google art on its boxes for the majority of his channel when I watched him, and then he made Blood Meridian popular instead of a proper niche. I don't have much hope.

I don't know if there's a specific image that you mean and I saw a different one but I saw the thumbnail with a black girl this morning alongside the one of a white boy walking away from the camera so I don't think he changed anything. It changed back and forth between those two as it popped up on my sub feed and in the suggested tab. Youtube lets you have up to three thumbnails that it will cycle between so I don't know if there was a third that it just didn't serve me

I'm honestly trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. For Ralph and Nick, even before they were prime lolcows, they were still wild degenerates, and people knew it. Back in the 2010's Ralph was a known drug user and former prison inmate. Rekieta was infamous for being a shock jock livestreamer who drank heavily on stream, back when he was relevant and respected. Sure, they all had steep declines from their peaks, but way before that they never propped up the image of being "good, simple, god-fearing family men". Wendigoon is just a big dork and a goober who happens to be religious. He has no known arrest history and doesn't get drunk on stream.

I thought that the Famburger tangent went on a bit too long but any joke about this painting is awesome:

I enjoyed the Point Pine stories but that Famburger tangent was legendary. I think it might be the funniest bit they've done, definitely up there with the borrasca funeral scene and eat me like a bug
I went through to hear the Famburger tangent (which is admittedly hilarious) but the series itself is not just extremely generic but doesn't seem to know what it wants to be. It goes between children in town with a dark secret, "tales from the gas station" esque bizarre reality, and internal town politics. No wonder the duo just stop giving a shit midway through and go on a tangent when the writer just tries to appeal to everyone.
