Same but I went alone. I don't remember most of what happened, than a giant activity room, like this, but way bigger, with mirror that spanned the room,i remember going and coming back, and getting days out of school, but i don't remember anythingI was in the GATE program, but I wasn't tested for it in school. My school actually didn't offer it, so my parents had a psychologist administer an IQ test privately, and following the results of that test, I'd go to the nearby public school once a week for GATE "class".
Yeah pretty much.Yeah I was in GATE
TLDW OP (sorry) but yet another case of chans shaping the reality of normalniggers like ripples in water. I was there for the original GATE threads on 8ch and it very very quickly mutated from speculation about the curriculum choices to legitimate diagnosed schizophrenics butting in and screeching about how they got MKULTRA'd every day for years and some kind of connection with the satanic panic/DID topic. It got retarded fast and those threads permanently shifted into schizo story hour from then on. They took it to 4/pol/ to rile up more crazies and the Qboomers picked it up and ran with it offsite on facebook and shit. To this day that is what these retards continue on about because it's just not interesting enough to say "we had advanced book clubs so we wouldn't get held back by the crayon eaters" - no, the crayon eaters now convince themselves that the "gaps" in their childhood memories were legitimate CIA psychic training torture sessions at public school.
Really tiring to see it regurgitated in the 100th iteration of telephone.
Nobody used the term GATE, but yes. The "gifted and talented program." The other kids in it were some nerd girls I never talked to.
The program: I took a bunch of extra SAT-like tests and they let me test out of classes at the beginning of each semester. They replaced those with "study hall" periods and gave me books (the "great books" curriculum, basically) to write essays about. Some classes they just pushed me ahead, "Senior English" in 9th grade, etc. My last two years I didn't have any real classes, just music and art.
Result: I had sex with older girls and joined a band with some teenage alcoholics I wouldn't have met otherwise.
Then I went to college like anybody. No cool MKUltra shit.
This seems to track with my own personal experiences. I felt like I was being targeted by teachers in elementary. Initially the child psychologist gave me glowing praise, then a few years later my mother asked if I wanted to go to a special ed school. It was very disconcerting. The GATE program was a way to remove energetic, smart, and potentially disobedient kids from the class room, gaslight parents into sabotaging their own kids, and gas up shitty midwit karen teachers into sabotaging those same kids into full compliance
Ah, a fellow gifted-kid-turned-homeless-alcoholic. How do you do. I wonder how many of us ended up down a similar path. Before I dropped out it looked like all my friends from GATE classes really were excelling socially and academically. I think all of us were in band at the time as we had musical inclination.I think we each, in our own way, showed The Man we would not be tamed.
Yeah I started around age 8. No such program existed in later schooling, just advanced classes.Too old. I was there around ages 5-9 I think, no older than that.
Sup.Ah, a fellow gifted-kid-turned-homeless-alcoholic. How do you do. I wonder how many of us ended up down a similar path.
