Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

Billy: grim! Look what I found in Mandy's trash! Bones! And they're all yucky and covered with ants!

Grim: those are chicken bones you simp!

Billy: how do you know?

When the episode aired Billy was asking how did grim know they're chicken bones, now you can interpret it to him asking "how did you know I am a simp?"

Case in fucking point: Inside Job, as pointed out above:

Can we get more cartoons that don't have generic, simplified blobs for characters? Please? The only recent one that's done so (that I've seen) is the surprisingly good Green Eggs & Ham adaptation. That's it. "IT COSTS MONEY THO". So?! If you can spend $5 million an episode to make GE&H look as good as it does, you can do that for at least a couple more cartoons. And the plot....

Yet another "HYPER-COMPETENT WAHMAN IS KEPT DOWN BY EVIL MEN HURR DURR" plot. Even though Alex Hirsch is executive producing this, expectations are mighty low.
Edit: I forgot Invincible in the "cartoons that don't look like shit" department, like a dumbass.

The premise for Inside Job just sounds like they watched one Alex Jones clip on YouTube and just base their opinions on the female character and try to make her sound like him.

I think this speaks for itself.

Anything for that Tumblr money. :stress:
What money? Aside tardbux and commission pieces the average Tumblr user is flat broke.

But yeah all jokes aside this reeks of desperation more than anything. A service desperate for original content taking what was originally a joke on the old show and rolling with it for an entire series.

Well to the streaming wars. where even shit like Doogie Howser, M.D. brought back as Doogie Kameāloha, M.D., or Save By the Bell a show I'm pretty sure no one actually enjoyed, for some reason is back.

Just shocked we haven't seen more of it from WB yet

No, I meant this specific version is based on Simon’s since he’s cured now. Simon is still writing fanfiction despite not being insane anymore.
Interesting so Simon is still writing fanfiction even after no longer being ice king. I wonder if his writing got better?
Finn really got shafted in his own show in the later seasons. Went from the protagonist to almost secondary character and got shit on a lot.
Yikes I really do feel bad for Finn. He was clearly suffering the fate of what we see now and days. The assault on white male protagonists.

Final got through Jellystone and all I can say is... I'm already looking up how to send flowers to the graves of William Hanna and Joe Barbera. I know sending floral arrangements to their final resting places won't do much but it's all I can do to pay more respect to them than the hacks who made that show ever will.
Well I'm glad you understood how we felt about this mess.

Timmy's dad: young man where did you get all these nice things?

Timmy: uhhh... Internet?

Dad: and where did you get the internet?

Timmy: Uhhh uhhh.

Dad: eh! He's stammering! OUR SON IS THE WALL TO WALLMART SHOPLIFTER! AHHHH!

Timmy: what?! You don't think I stole this stuff do you?!

Dad: AHHHH!

Timmy: that's a yes! But I didn't do it!

Dad: AHHHH!

Mom: that's it young man! You know you're not supposed to make your Dad scream like a girl three times in one day! When he wakes up you're in a lot of trouble!

Gotta love how their pronouns are listed! Wow, two guys, a little boy, and a chick. How could've I known? Why is a little boy being asked to list his pronouns? And is Netflix going to add the pronouns of their actors under every each of these posts?

For Spanish speakers, is the "elle/delle" supposed to be the equivalent of listing your pronouns in... Spanish?
It is Portuguese but Elle/Delle is what Spanish and Portuguese speaking gender specials use for gender neutrality. There's already a gender neutral but it is often applied to concepts rather than entities.

Does anyone want to sperg about nu-Johnny Test?

Holy Krabby Patties, what a cool find! Having read through it, it's really amazing how little changed between the pitch bible and the final show. Look at the character descriptions - they are pretty much exactly how they're like in the show.

The only one who's radically different from his final incarnation is Barnacle Boy - oh I'm sorry, Barnacle Bill:

Right down to "examples" ending up as actual episodes (the squeaky boots, SpongeBob and Patrick taking a wheelchair-bound Squidward jellyfishing, the reef blower incident, etc.). It's so rare to see a show's world so fully-formed before it airs, which I think is part of the reason why SpongeBob took off as rapidly and with more people than other Nicktoons. Stephen Hillenburg was a visionary, and the world became a little less brighter the day we lost him.

The other notable thing in this is that they seem to imply SpongeBob and Sandy have a relationship - which wasn't really the case in the show.

Though I wonder what made them change it to "Krusty Krab" or had Squidward play the clarinet. Did they think it was funnier?

Well let's give it a test

"Hey SpongeBob? I think Squidwards taking this too serious that last one had his oboe in it. "

This is certainly a very neat find, but looking at Plankton's early design makes me wonder if he was originally meant to be some sort of half Human, half Plankton hybrid creature
