What alternative to Scribd is there?

Scribd used to be great but then the site was changed dramatically. Forcing users to sign up to view the material. Forcing you to upload material to download material. Etcetera. I'm curious what alternatives are out there.

Looks good but it doesn't look like it's easy to just browse. You have to be searching for something very specific to find what you're looking for.
