Are there any other paradox titles you like? EU4, Vic 2, CK2, etc

I like the game, I get it's very simple but it's still fun. I hate the Dlc's though, I shouldn't have to pay almost as much money that I bought the game for just to get gameplay mechanics (that should've been in the game in the first place) and a decent focus tree for fucking America.

Tried a few Paradox strategy games. Could not get into them due to the real time aspects. Also, I got confused by all the menus. Games look fun, but I lack the type of autism to enjoy them. Good on those who are into that, though.

Something about real time mechanics in a game that looks like it should be purely turn based throws me off.

Yes, those (well CK2 anyway) would give an impression of being more fit to be "turn-based". You should try HOI4/Vic2. I don't think you'd have the same issues. Some advice for Vic 2. Don't try to understand how the economy works. The devs don't understand it either. Try to not become communist or liberal, cause that tends to kill the economy. For Hoi4, do not click on the "tutorial" button. It's a trap meant to confuse you. It will teach you nothing good, and will just confuse you. Since Paradox cannot make decent tutorials (except in Vic 2) they attached a wiki article to most features.

I think the obsession with world war games some people have, has a lot of parallels to the interest autists have in planes and trains (ie tanks, war planes, guns). Being a world war enthusiast just seems so boring, I think the autists that hyper focus on other historical eras have a lot more interesting things going for them

I've played for a few years and the single player has grown on me but there are some huge issues.

The base game is so bare bones. The fact that so many features are locked behind DLC is pretty annoying. Shit like Waking the Tiger should have been free or heavily discounted, considering the General rework is so crucial to playing.

That and the engine being complete dogshit. Shit starts chugging hard around 1943-44 and gets worse from there.

Multiplayer is a joke and a waste of time. 6 hours for a complete game with constant crashes and desyncs? Yeah no.

The mods make it worth it. Mods allow you to get the proper experience for free. No proper soviet or Italy trees? No problem, have one for free. You can even get them for Brazil, Butan, and all the other shithole nations no one plays. And then you have the alt history and alt gamemodes like Kaiserreich and that Star Wars one. Nutty.
