What do you consider a reasonable price for a sit-down restaurant?

I'd say about $20-$25 a person is expected, maybe a bit less if you get a cheaper lunch special, a bit more if you get upsold on desserts etc.

I tend to be a bit cheaper than the average person. I'm not really about fancy atmospheres; I eat for the food and little else.

We pay about $20-25 for entrees. $14 or so for an app. There is, however, very nice place that does a multiple course meal that we go to like once a year. We can drop about $200-$250 on that. Best veal chops ever.

the last time i went to a sit down restaurant i think i spent a total of $40 something for an appetizer, an entree, dessert, tips, and taxes. seems reasonable to me, especially since this is not something i do but maybe once or twice a year.

If you eat for the food, learn to cook and make your own dishes.

These places also charge you for the privilege of taking space in their establishment (and service), and basic stuff is essentially overpriced as a result if you don't care about its atmosphere.
