The saving grace of such a creation is that its popularity and success would be based entirely on the talent of its writing and creative team, a consistently glaring weak point. Synthetic Celebrities will fail so long as they try to make them political tools and not actual characters. It's going to be even more difficult to parse the difference between reality and CGI. With the strides made in 3D rendering tech that allow for almost indecipherably real human models and voice emulation improving year after year, I don't see a future that doesn't include these renderings being used and mistaken for real people. Hell, I'm waiting for Hollywood to invent some fake CGI hologram celebrity that stays the same forever.
