What has [CURRENT YEAR] ruined for you?

Yeah I actually think about race now.
Pre-2015 I genuinely didn't give it a thought besides being partial to white girls (which is NOT racist, fuck yourself) but now I'm forced to genuinely consider it. Required courses that aren't even gender/race studies will have entire units or semesters devoted to it. Let's not have unique insights into the book we read or song we heard, let's not figure out what makes it a compelling narrative or beautifully written. No no, the author used "gypsy" in a time period-appropriate novel, let's fucking derail the entire conversation to wonder about skin color. More than that, if you AREN'T the right skin color, just shut up because you don't have anything to say. That's 10 points off your participation grade, fuck you.

Literal racists. Now this fucking Michael-Moore-meets-Metroid parasite is stuck in my skull and it makes me want to gently remove it with a hollow point. Fuck modern academia. Bunch of propaganda-toting racial sycophants. I can't wait to only have my STEM major courses left, you know, something that's actually useful.

I really liked using "gay" as an adjective. It just rolled off the tongue nicely. Nothing can ever really replace: "That's fuckin' gay." Felt so satisfying to say. Now if I want to say it I have to check to make sure nobody is around, and that I'm in a soundproof room, and take the battery out of my cellphone.

Going to a store looking for new books and they're all the same shit with strong female main characters of color written by strong women of color because that's all publishers want anymore. Even if the writer happens to be a man, he's gotta try and write about women's troubles or some bullshit. Wokeness has ruined books, that which was supposed to be a mentally challenging medium.

Hating on Trump. Around 2004 you had punk bands like Anti-Flag and Bad Religion. They brought the fight to Bush. They started the whole idea of questing what the government told us. Music was once a powerful tool. Music was used to help people think about the things going on around them. Now everyone just mindless hates on Trump or other politicians for no real reason.

For me it’s been academia. Some teachers nowadays won’t stop sperging about Trump and it’s really annoying. I understand if people don’t like him, but it’s grating to hear my professor’s hot takes on him nearly every day.

Another part I don’t like in some of my classes has been the white guilt and Islamic apologism. Both are very tedious subjects and don’t add anything new. For Islamic apologism specifically, I’m so tired of people (professors and students) making exceptions in criticizing Islam when they’ll freely criticize Judaism, Christianity or literally any other religion besides Islam. With the white guilt thing, it is just pointless virtue signaling that only works to divide people further.

I know this is probably mad on the internet and a bit autistic, but these things have been bothering me lately.

In SJWeden, something gets ruined by Islamist lobbyists and gender ideologists every current year!

Something which hasn't been brought up yet: the topic of climate change has definitely been ruined for me in the most current of current years. A lot of Swedish media outlets have become so insufferable with their completely uncritical worshipping of Greta Thunberg (I don't dislike her, but it's clear that she is exploited by adults for political and economical reasons and it's ridiculous how a sixteen-year-old is framed as some sort of climate change expert Jesus) and judgement day articles about how Svensson needs to STOP HAVING CHILDREN FOR THE SAKE OF SAVING THE CLIMATE! (while still preaching the gospel of lax immigration policies because immigrants will save the birth rates or some shit) that I just tend to zone out whenever the topic is brought up.

Movies to an extent, I used to not care who was the lead in a movie was but now if they look like a diversity hire I take it as a signal it’s a woke movie and avoid it until I find out differently.

Also politics, conversations online used to be pretty chill and civil now it’s a huge clown show.

Around 10 years ago I liked Bill Maher, The Colbert Report and the Daily Show. Now I can't watch or engage with these types of shows, they've all become mindlessly neoliberal apparatchiks for corporate interests in the Democrat party and they're performatively woke. Although, I suspect that I was just naive and that it's easy to strawman different opinions to the uninformed.

I feel the same way for calling everyone who did something stupid a faggot. I've kicked the habit in real life but it's so much fun online.

It's not like you need a reason to hate politicians though

Fav authors (William Gibson for me)
Ouch. I remember getting a twitter for the first time and thinking it was so cool to see updates from a favorite author until Gibson started sperging about Trump and politics all the time. Honestly it was one of those things that woke me up about all the bullshit nowadays eventually I quit twitter altogether.

The Sprawl trilogy is still cool though.

How polarized politics have become. I'm sure it's always been this way to some degree and I just didn't pay enough attention, but it really seems to have gotten worse in the past few years. You can't seem to have a civil discussion with opposing views anymore, it's become an "us vs. THEM!!!" Bloodsport. You lean to the left? Well fuck you! Soyboy cuck faggot! You lean to the right? Fuck you as well, you Bible thumping, white trash racist! You're seen as nothing more than a faceless piece of cannon fodder based only on if you're blue or red.

Oh, and being able to call someone or something r.tarded without people acting like you just called them a niggerkikecuntfag. That sucks now.
