Imagine Chris in Everything's Eventual. For those who haven't read this short story by Stephen King here's a quick run down, Richard aka "Dinky" has a unique ability to drive people and animals to kill themselves. He does this by drawing images and in the story he emails them to his targets. As a results he's rewarded by Mr. Sharpton, who recruited him. However, despite all the gifts and money he could possibly want, he becomes distraught after reading about a person he killed with his powers. So, spoiler alert, does the same for his boss as he escapes!

I wonder if Chris had these powers and was rewarded for it, would he feel guilty?

I was also thinking of the Road Virus Head's North. In that story a famous write buys a bizarre painting drawn by someone who committed suicide. For some reason the painting changes and the characters kills whoever the author interacted since he purchased the painting; even killing the author later in the story.
