They're actually ghosts, IIRC? The animatronics are haunted by the ghosts of multiple children who were murdered by an employee of the restaurant.

Anyway, if they were real that would mean ghosts are real as well as technology advanced enough to contain them.

If was real the animatronics would not be as dangerous as they appear in game. The animatronics are quite simply that, simple machines that would never have the strength to intentionally kill. We would never harm any innocent security guards or kids, simple as that.
