What if instead of raining clouds just kinda dumped all their water at once?

kinda feels like they did this last week

It'd cause lots of erosion on the landscape compared to normal rain and may even be harmful depending on how much rain there is to drop. You know that whole "falling from X height into water is like hitting concrete"? That applies for water falling onto you too. Tiny drop of water? No big deal. A torrent of warped water hitting you after dropping for several kilometers? Pretty painful.

People would get crushed by the weight, might not be immediately fatal, but it would probably break bones and knock you out before you drown.

Society would have evolved in order to deal with this.

You are in this strange world where in some places the earth itself shakes out of nowhere, why does the floor do that? Must be hungry. And what about those threads of light that sometimes strike trees and cause fires? It's like a spider-web catching something at high speed! What's that weird, cold & white thing that gives you water (yummy!) when you touch it?

Weird stuff.

It would be the meteorological equivalent of the cloud getting hammered at the bar then going to a questionable diner at 3 in the morning and ordering a wet burrito and a glass of milk. The results will be explosive and possibly life threatening to anyone in the area.
