What is actually the appeal of vtubers?

Throughout the ages it's been said that 3D is PD. While a living person can be disgusting for all the same reasons you are disgusting an anime girl is pristine. This is especially true because anime girls all have one of four personalities and generally aren't drawn stomping their uterine lining down into the shower drain. They are nothing but the idealized things you want because they're fictional.

What I don't understand is what niche vtubers are meant to inhabit. You've taken the superficial aspects of an anime girl and then attached all of those other things you don't want. A vtuber is human so they can surprise you with their gross habits, repugnant personalities, disagreeable opinions and the possibility that eventually someone will have sex with them. What does this accomplish for the waifufag?

Also don't say "Well you can talk to them" since vtubers won't do that without paying them money vs. AI which can probably replicate Sacchin Yumizuka's perfectly for free.

I like streaming in concept but I don't like to be reminded that the person I'm watching is either a social reject in their parents house or a millionaire. It's easier to just pretend they're not real.

I used to compare it to Gorillaz but it seems like everyone asking this question is too old or young to know what Gorillaz was.

it really is simply as this is the closest to anime being real as you can realistically get today. to me it is that simple, it is just anime.
