Are you socially retarded for doing the right thing where most will do the wrong thing? Or is the opposite true and it is socially apt to appeal to the majority even if they're idiots or bad people?

For example, if you're a pain to retail staff you likely will get a discount or coupon by complaining to the manager.

There's a subset of women who will sperg out at the homeless because they feel it's unsafe if they get too close, some of these will be your co-workers. So is it socially apt to ruin a homeless person's day to make your co-workers feel "safer"?

Being retarded about anything just means you're not seeing the consequences of your actions and controlling for them. Standing against the status quo or telling people to suck it up in life doesn't make you socially retarded by itself. It's when you aren't prepared for them to dislike you which does. Chris is a special case, he could have very easily been a fully functional adult (albeit still a weirdo) if he really wanted to and if his parents didn't pamper his ass so much, which definitely helped encourage him to never grow the fuck up. He's also smart enough to recognize that the "autism" card can be used to negate consequences for a lot of things. He's definitely not a charismatic man with a silver tongue who can manipulate his way into anyone's mind, but he's not as social retarded as he acts either. Being socially functional is understanding and recognizing your words and actions have an effect on others and if you want to navigate through life you must bear this fact in mind when interacting with other people. When I was a teenager I had a friend who had an older brother that was retarded that we would hang out with him. He was retarded. I know retards. Chris is a retard. You can't expect retards to know how to act in social situations. They can do any weird shit and think it's ok. Social retardation is when a person you think is normal or is normal but still does shit in social situations they shouldn't. I am not talking about assholes either. People who know what they are doing is wrong and they just don't give a shit. These people are not autistic. They know the reactions they will get but they don't care. No matter what happened to Chris he would never be normal. He would never have a totally normal life. Even if the economy was good, he would probably never have a job. He probably wouldn't do anything most other people do because he was retarded. If anything, his access to the internet and certain people just made him worse. I would probably say it was the people more than just the internet in general. His parents pampered him because they knew he wasn't normal, and they were trying to protect him. Of course, being older than even Boomers they didn't understand the internet and how dangerous it could be for a person like Chris. They let him have access to an outlet that made him worse. He should have been involved in some kind of retard center. Getting on a bus and going someplace in a controlled environment where he could learn how to at least function somewhat.
