For me it's unironically singapore
Good:
- Lee Kuan Yew: Philosopher, pragamatist, Chap
- inspired economic reform of china with Deng Xiaoping
- executes drugs smugglers
- virtually eliminated ethinic tension by having living quotas in accordance to the demographics
- one of the best places to do business in the world (highest economic freedom besides hong kong)
- founder (LKY) was an incorruptable genius who denied bribes from the CIA
- essentially no corruption in the government, politicans make more than enough money to do their job
- healthcare system is the most efficient in the world while being highest quality
- High quality public housing
- sanitized gambling
- breathtaking infrastructure (Marina Bay Sands, Changi airoprt, HSBC Rain Vortex)
- A substatial spending on military as a means to defend itself
- critizes both China and USA while also being allies with both
- multi-cultural society that respects all backgrounds and religions
- one of the safest countries in the world
- the public willfully votes for the ruling party
- the government responds pragmatically to voting percentages and complaints by adjusting their policies
- extensive transit system and high quality roads
- 4th highest GDP per capita in the world
- proving success and prosperity of authoritarianism
- wants to achieve 30% food self sufficiency by 2030
- natural harbor being one of the trading hubs of the east
- 5th longest life expectancy in the world
- Technologically innovate and advanced
Bad:
- Expensive to live there
- hard to get into public housing if you're a foreigner
- chewing gum ban kinda wtf
- a little boring sometimes, especially if you don't have money
- some restrictions on freedom of speech and congregation
- de facto one party state
- small
- hot and muggy region
- some meds could be classified as hardcore drugs, making the process to get them in difficult
- police state
- Asian work culture
- not much creative expression
It's certainly not perfect but they have their shit together.
