What is the best text to read to understand, in a practical way, gunpowder (land and sea) tactics?

I know Hardee's Tactics exists and that gunpowder tactics evolved dramatically (ie between Maurice, Gustav Adolf, Frederick, Napoleon, etc.), but is there a particular book that would best teach me general principles of how to command forces of musketeers and similar troops?
 
There's a lot of good historical reenactor videos online that show how to run through the various evolutions of marching, deploying, and firing in formation from a command perspective.

They often animate the static diagrams from Hardee's and other drill manuals to make them easier to grasp.
