We have a thread for the last video games we've played. But what about the very firsts? I'm curious.

I was mostly too young to play video games in the early nineties, but I remember watching my older siblings play Super Mario World and Final Fantasy II on the Super Nintendo. And I remember spending hours on Mario Paint and loving the shit out of it.

The very first I remember playing is Sonic the Hedgehog 2, a game that's lived on in my life since the year I was born through compilations (mainly Sonic Mega Collection), emulation, and recent mobile re-release. By that merit, Sonic 2 is probably the game that's been in my life for the longest out of any game ever (I didn't even get into KH until last year in case you're surprised that's not the game that's been in my life the longest).
I can say it wasn't Sonic 1 since I remember trying to spin dash in that one after playing 2.

And when I was too young to remember, we had some Barney game for Genesis too.

My family used to own a Sega Genesis when I was very young, but the first game I can truly recall playing is Super Mario World, back when my aunt used to live in a mobile home.

I also remember playing a lot of N64 and PS1 games early in my life before moving on to PS2.

My mind is trying hard enough to look at the memories of playing a SNES game. I'm thinking either Super Mario All-Stars or Paperboy 2. As far as siblings go, I can remember my brother and sister playing Power Rangers on SNES, fighting the final boss, Cyclopsis. After that, I remember my sister playing Resident Evil 3 and my brother playing a bit of Brave Fencer Musashi.

The earliest game I remember playing was this game on the Gameboy Color called Spiderman: The Sinister Six. It took me at least a year to beat the game (I was like 3 when I started playing it), and it left quite an impression on me. It had a pretty cool intro too.

Very first game I ever played was Frogs and Flies for Atari 2600.

Very first console I ever owned personally was a shitty bootleg of the Coleco Telstar Arcade called the Bullseye. It shorted out the day I got it.

Very first video game I ever beat was Faxanadu on NES.

It was either Super Mario Bros. or Duck Hunt. My parents borrowed the NES and the Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt dual cartridge with the NES Zapper back when I was two, and I remember playing them as some of my earliest memories. I just don't remember which one was first.
