What is the point of a 3d mouse when I could use a trackball?

One is 3D the other 2D?
I don't think you can comfortable use the scroll ring on the trackball while also accurately moving the ball.

They seem kinda neat, but for 3D modeling, I’d rather use a stylus.

Probably should get around to buying a used Wacom tablet someday

but cant you move it in all directions and twist it like the 3d mouse? I get what you mean its probably easier to grip the 3d mouse.
The short answer is accuracy and precision.

The DPI on that SpaceMouse Pro is 20,000

The DPI on the Kensington trackball is 400 to 1,500

Those high end 3d mice you're linking to are for stuff like architectural design not 360 no scoping n00bs.
im kinda a n00b when it comes to this stuff. Why does DPI matter?
