Mine are mostly about bioengineering.

1) There’s a species of moth that can eat plastic. That’s great in and of itself, because they could be used to eliminate plastic that would otherwise not be recycled. But imagine if you could crossbreed it with silkworms (it probably doesn’t work this way) to turn plastic jugs into silk.

2) They’re growing plants now which are able to suck up metal (quarter or more of the plant mass is metal) from the ground, and they can burn the plant and smelt the ash to get useful metals. Imagine turning things like old WW1 battlefields into vast metal plantations and being a metal farmer.

3) South Carolina used to have a thing called Sea Island cotton that was as fine as silk, but was banned due to the Boll weevil. They’re capable of making Boll weevil resistant cotton now, so there’s no reason Sea Island cotton couldn’t be grown in as a luxury competitor to the Egyptian industry.

4) When vat-grown meat becomes sufficiently advanced, home meat printers, feed the vat its chemical juice and collect your own "gardened" meat slab when it's done growing.

5) Helium cruise zeppelins for cruises that can access inland cities and geographical features that ships and trains can't. They would never be as cheap or large as cruise ships but they are not anywhere near as impractical as people think.

Do you want Mothra? Because that's how you get Mothra .

A tank that devours enemy infantry and uses the biomass of their bodies for fuel.
