I grew up almost exclusively on Toon Disney. I was so autistic I didn't know I could change the channel on the TV, so I didn't. I watched basically every episode of Aladdin twice, Gargoyles was my first serious "dark" show, my love of Spider-Man is derived from the 1995 animated series, and Hercules was what got me interested in Greek mythology.

TFW you realize Hera wasn't actually Hercules's Mom and wanted to kill him in his crib D:

I didn't watch a ton of TV growing up, so the children's programming I watched was limited to whatever was aired on the basic channels such as CBC. Stuff like Arthur, Rolie Polie Olie, DragonTales, Magic School Bus and ReBoot are what I remember the most.

YTV had pretty much everything from Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network. Sugar who voiced "Rini" in the kids Sailor Moon dub hosted The Zone that was between shows.

To this day I can still hear the Dragon Tales theme in my fucking head.

I fear that one day, as I lay dying and fading into the void, I will hear it softly...
"Dragon Tales, Dragon Tales
It's almost time for Dragon Tales
Come along and take my hand
Let's all go to Dragon Land..."

All there was for kids channels for me was Nickelodeon. There was Disney, but it was bundled with the extra expensive cable channels, so my family didn’t have it until I was in high school and it got added to the lower tier cable channels.

I remember watching Bob Ross because during that hour (2 episodes) there was nothing on any channel that appealed, even Nick had some sort of really babyish show on at that time slot. TBS had the Disney Afternoon for me.

Being Canadian, we didn't have a Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network when I was a kid. We actually had YTV and Teletoon when they weren't just the Canadian branches of those aforementioned American channels.

I'd also watch Family Channel and we managed to get the Rochester affiliates of PBS and Fox too. So I got to see both Fox Kids and their FoxBox/4Kids TV successors.

Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network all the way for me; I did watch some stuff from PBS, too, but I have much more fond memories of CN and Nick (back when Western cartoons were much more at their A-Game and not trying so hard to appeal to niche crowds they really shouldn't aim for like they are now.), honestly.

I did get Disney Channel at some point (2004-05), but when I did, it wasn't as good anymore. Same with Toon Disney, which still had better stuff than normal Disney Channel at the time, but it still wasn't the same quality as Disney Afternoon or One Saturday Morning, sadly enough.

I was born in '88, so I was the perfect age during the Golden era of both Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network. I watched both, obviously, but I was more of a Nick kid. My favorites were the live action shows. Legends of the Hidden Temple, GUTS, What Would You Do?, Wild & Crazy Kids, etc.

Does anyone remember the show The Weekenders? What an incredible cartoon. So witty and ahead of its time.

Also, this:

Cinemax. Friday After Dark was my jam back in grade school.

Apologies for the double post, but I've got a good story.

My parents were shitty and I had cable in my bedroom from a very early age. I would watch "Talk Sex" with Sue Johanson every night in sixth and seventh grade. I was the fucking king of the playground.
