What old media are you watching? - Since new media isn't worth watching

Watching The Prisoner and it's fantastic, great mix of spy troupes and incredible surrealism. Patrick McGoohan is a great lead, it's just so engrossing watching him trying to figure shit out. The election episode is probably one of the best portrayal of a circus election I've ever seen and the episode where everyone disappeared is just masterful even if it very clear how it going to end. Shows so well done it genuinely makes you scared of a gaint weather ballon and if none if that sounds interesting you can at least get context for that one Simpsons episode

It's spooky season so we're rewatching old Hammer films - some are unintentionally hilarious, all have great sets and acting, and Christopher Lee is almost young in them. A lot of fun.

I've been watching some old historical epics. The ex-commie ones ironically end up being more realistic because they wanted to emphasize "muh common class struggle" rather than one badass smacking everyone so battles end up using real formations from back in the day more often than not. So far I've watched the legendary Waterloo, Proti všem (Against All) a Czech movie about the Hussite wars and The 300 Spartans, not to be confused with 300.

FMW deathmatch wrestling, thanks to @LikeAStone 2.0 's recommendation, alongside other deathmatch wrestling vids as a whole. Fascinating piece of entertainment that's full of brutal spectacle and full of heart. A lot of information about it online can be attributed to one dedicated American fan (warning, ancient website) who keeps his own encyclopedia and video archive running.

Hayabusa's story in particular was very endearing to me. A wrestling star's life turns upside down after a single slip up on the ropes paralyzed him from neck down. Over the course of the next few months, his own wife pushes him away, the company he dedicated his life to shuts down, and his career is pretty much over. Despite all this, he managed to reach a point where he could stand up and walk, attended dozens of wrestling events, even started a small singing career. He had a close circle of friends who stuck by him until the end.

And that's just one bio out of a few, not to mention the history of FMW itself and its narcissistic owner. Very interesting material.

Not that recently, but Zulu became one of my favorite movies I'd ever seen after I saw it. Also I watched From Beyond for the spooky season and enjoyed it thoroughly.
Good flick, way better than the Ridley Scott Napoleon trash we got recently. The green screen when they're on horseback is the only part that aged badly imo.

The Prisoner was great, its always interesting to see portrayals of "futuristic" technology from that time period and how they compare to today and the more recent past. Some of the later episodes were a little bit bizarre for my taste especially the very last one but it was compelling and unpredictable enough to hold my interest.

Have you seen the "prequel" called Danger Man featuring some of the same cast, and is it worth watching?

How old is "old"? Because I just recently finished watching The Terror which is from 2018. Good stuff despite not being a 1-to-1 adaptation of the novel. Apparently there are two more seasons that have nothing to do with the book but who fucking cares?
Also I ended up watching The Crow some time after the remake came out. It's weirder than I was expecting but not by much. It also keeps you on the edge of your seat watching it; every time there's a gunfight you keep asking yourself "is this the scene where Brandon Lee fucking dies?"

I got back into MTGO recently and since it is really low intensity I have Wrestling Bios detailed recaps of the monday night wars on in the background while playing matches with people. Listening him talk about what is going on every so often I will remember that particular match etc from when I was a kid. it's a great background noise but I'd like to rewatch the actual content from 96-2000 eventually. It's the only wrestling I can tolerate I am not a huge fan but I think every kid my age liked pro wrestling during that time period. Not a fan of anything recent.
