So I was driving down the street today when I saw this guy get hit by another car. The crazy thing is the guy looked okay. In fact he stood up and started smacking the crap out of the car as it sped off. I stopped and asked the guy if he was okay and asked if he needed me to call someone. He just took down my number and walked off. Does this mean I might have to go to court?

If he takes it to court do I have to show up as a witness? If I don’t can I get in trouble?
You may get called by the police during a follow up and asked to write a witness statement. You could get asked to testify if the case goes to trial. They would have to get a subpoena to force you to testify. That is a court order and refusing it can result in fines or jail time if you don't comply. The victim's lawyer may contact you as part of a civil suit against the driver as well.

Nothing may happen because the driver admits their fault and that is all the court needs to get them to cop a plea and the driver's insurance settles with the victim without a fuss.
You’re forgetting the part where the “person” who was hit had a fur suit on and erego isn’t a human being.

Wtf I don’t wanna go to jail for watching a crime?!

Then you testify. Jail isn't very common for not complying with a subpoena. You'd have to get sanctioned for contempt of court and a fine is more likely. This isn't some kind of big case or anything. Bradley Manning was imprisoned for contempt of court when he refused to testify at a grand jury regarding Wikileaks for isntance. There are alternatives like getting deposed for your testimony instead of doing it in court. Court is a pain in the ass, but it isn't like this is a high profile crime with a trial that will take weeks or anything.
