What was that burger McDonald's did in the 90s that was like a quarter pounder with special sauce?

Their "special sauce" is/was Russian dressing, but I've heard people say it's Thousand Island; though it could've been either.

It was a different sauce on this Arch Deluxe sandwich, apparently.

"The Arch Deluxe was a quarter pound of beef on a split-top potato flour sesame seed bun, topped with a circular piece of peppered bacon, leaf lettuce, tomato, American cheese, onions, ketchup, and a "secret" mustard and mayonnaise sauce."

Big Mac sauce isn't Thousand Island, and definitely isn't Russian. I've seen replica recipes online that have mayo, sugar, vinegar, minced onion, relish and French dressing. I tried the recipe, and it was definitely close. McDonald's actually sold the stuff in stores for a while.

I think the sauce on the Arch Deluxe was a mayo and mustard sauce, might even be the stuff used on the McChicken. Anyone who cares to google it can, I'm not sure I'm right.

The Arch Deluxe was alright but I really liked the chicken version of it, the Crispy Chicken Deluxe, which stuck around in Canadian McDonald's until at least the mid-2000s before it got replaced by those bistro chicken sandwiches including the Southwest Chicken, which was also great.

Who remembers the McDLT?

I remember the McDLT being a thing but I don't think I ever tried it.

Stand in the hall, bro

The Crispy Chicken Deluxe was good, but fell a little short

The McDLT was back when they still used Styrofoam and it came with twice as much Styrofoam. That's was the gimmick - that the "cold side" of the burger (with the lettuce and tomato) was in a different part of the Styrofoam package than the "hot side" with the burger patty. Basically you pay extra to perform the last step in assembling your own burger.
