What would happen if you gave trans people placebos instead of HRT?

After revisiting the Mr. Cool Ice meltdown, it got me thinking. Many troons believe HRT to be the ultimate key to happiness and self-acceptance, but does it really do that? It's very likely the troon's state of euphoria is made manifest after believing that they've started the journey to woman/manhood, and not from the hormones themselves. If you gave a tranny a sugar pill labeled as the respective hormone therapy, would troons be able to delude themselves into thinking they are on genuine HRT and start feeling more euphoric as a result?

I am willing to run this experiment if I can secure a small amount of funds. Perhaps $10,000,000,000 or so. C'mon you know you're curious about it.

Because he thought a vagina was growing in and he had to release it by cutting open his taint. I think the trolls were the ones who eventually had to convince him to go get it looked at because the wound was getting infected.

The really weird thing about placebos, that still blows my mind even after learning it years ago, is that people can  know they are taking a placebo and it still works.

Hormones aren't fighting an infection or fixing a problem, but troons are fucking delusional. They'd likely just gain weight and then claim that was the same as growing tits, for the MtFs at least. But I don't think even the most insane troon could be so convinced they were taking hormones they'd have any of the effects of an FtM taking testosterone, which has far more dramatic, and irreversible, effects on the body.

But seriously, placebos are nuts. A bigger placebo pill works better than a smaller one, because being literally harder to swallow makes the non-medicine work better. It's fascinating.
