Don't get me wrong, once I heard it I understand. But what's going on with that? First example pops into my head is ContraPoints. Those videos are uncomfortable because you're clearly being forced to participate in a man's sexual fetish but yeah, the lighting's pretty fucked up. Is it just association and people copied him or is there something else going on? Is it meant to invoke like strip clubs? I'm no color doctor. Are certain colors more degenerate?

Honestly, for some reason reading this question reminded me of an episode of Dr. House involving an artist who had vision issues which were causing him to not really see what he was painting--he thought he was just like, painting houses and sunsets and stuff, but in reality they all came out as sketchy and abstract because he was literally not seeing what everyone else was (when Dr. House fixed his vision issues and the guy's paintings looked normal again, suddenly nobody cared about his art).

I'm wondering if there's something similar going on here? Like maybe Contrapoints or whoever literally does not know how it's lighting looks, and all the orbiters just accept that this is what "good lighting" looks like.

The people who overthink this stuff are universally two things: one, pretentious, and two, hangers-on. Heck I still remember the time when Mighty No. 9's design was said to be cutting-edge... until that whole thing became controversial and the finished game turned out to be kinda bad, then suddenly it became cool to shit on the thing,.

It's funny you ask this because I went to a house party recently where the host used this style of lighting, and I asked them why. They said it's because blue, pink, and purple are "warm" and "gentle" colours so they make the room feel more intimate. If that's the logic at play then it makes sense why a youtube video essayist or twitch streamer would use it, it probably helps in trying to build a parasocial relationship with your audience (i.e make them more inclined to give you their money).

Hm. Perhaps it's so the light from the monitor isn't as harsh when their audience is watching it in the dark? Like a sexually degenerate f.lux? Probably something to do with the breadtube voice too.

My man, this shit even has a Wikipedia page.
This pic shows you what it encompasses (tried to upload it several times, but couldn't). Desexualized, superinclusive mystery meat genderspecial garbage, girlboss dykes, and faggotry of unparalleled scale, complete with literal gay niggers from outer space. All this slop looks so samey that I only recognize one game, Borderlands 3, and it's because of its unique artstyle.

Fuckin what? This is real and not an off hand observation?
Yeah that was my reaction too.

If I'm honest, anything to do with art is mostly just an arbitrary thing a bunch of idiots decided on, and the minute they decided that some colors are "bisexual" this whole bisexual/transexual/mostly-sexual thing became.... retard-sexual. Couldn't resist.

But seriously, the minute we start saying "some color choices indicate a sexual orientation," that's enough to make me want to mass liquidate the human race. It's a color. It doesn't have a meaning.

It just looks like using cymk as a color palette rather than rgb to me. It's bright and creates a stark contrast so I can see the appeal in it.
I assumed the "bisexual" thing had to do with cyan and pink being colors on some pride flag.

I don't know bro. "Seeing red" has pretty always meant violence with good reason, it's the color of blood. By that logic, bisexual lighting CAN exist

Blood was already red, however. Some fags just arbitrarily decided a certain color scheme meant "bisexual." Apples and oranges, dude.

I was going to argue that that's a natural occurrence, same as passion and shame also being associated with blood in language unlike a fag flag, but I guess my real question is why does that lighting trigger the caveman response in my brain that what I'm looking at is a threat and needs to be beat to death with a bone?

Simple answer: You were told it was associated with something bad so you accepted it.

It doesn't strike me the same way. For me its just like "are they at a rave or something?"

I would say that purple and pink are very strange in nature, and when you do see it, it's either: flowers, guts of a animal, or pussy. That's the closest thing I can get man

Good point. As I said I first noticed it when ContraPoints popped up, so I suppose it's more likely I associate his uncanny valley skinwalking with that lighting.

Also deep sea shit, which I am also not a fan of. Now I'm just high thinking but the purple guts are the don't eat smelly bits. I don't even know their names, I know they need to come out of Thumper with out being told.

Purple has been a color of luxury and largesse since the time of Han China and Rome. It just fell to the wayside because it got too expensive or the methods were lost. From what I can gather, when it's used well, purple can sort of combine the effects which red and blue have on the body to where it can calm the body while still providing a high tempo of energy. It essentially turns your brain on while keeping it calm.

So the trannys have now pushed way into colors spaces now. It is funny how everyone mentioned ContraPoints as the first thing they associated with the name bisexual colors
