What's your first/most recent/most memorable encounter with Ess Jay Dubya shit in the wild?

I've seen pronouns in people's email signatures a bit. I just see it as a good way of knowing they're probably not worth listening to.
Pronouns are useful in emails if somebody has an ambiguous name (Robin, Leslie, Riley) or if their name is typically associated with the other gender (male Staceys exist, but if I see the name Stacey I'm going to think woman unless otherwise specified), but generally they aren't used for that purpose, and rather to show political stance.

By my second English teacher that tried to teach through an intersectional lens I was pissed off. Not because they were rude or unreasonable or anything, but because you could get an A just by repeating their examples back to them. It felt like indoctrination.
I also recently met a very well regarded marketing professional who was actually upset that there were three white guys in an ad. The add was in a brochure for fucking motorcycles/dirt bikes. The previous page included black people, there were women, but God forbid three white guys stand next to each other in an ad.

"Burgers?" indeed.

I'm about to go back to school, so I was filling out my application this morning. The system asked me for my race, nationality, disability status, whether I'm first gen, etc., all marked as required. The 20-something race options and overall wording of that section cracked me up for some reason.
Not gonna lie, I was tempted to pick autism in that disability dropdown.

In the olden days having a guy having a name like "Marion" just gave you license to change your name to something more butch. That's what John Wayne did.

A (now former) friend of mine had a panic attack and I had to hold him as he started to shiver because I said that IQ is partially genetic and there are differences in the average between racial groups.

Then, before he was fully calmed down, with full sincerity, asked me if I thought that other races had to be genocided.

When I was a kid I got dragged out to watch gender studies majors give their theses at the local university because it was going to be educational or something. Little did they know they'd just redpilled twelve year old me.
lol how did that redpill you?

There was almost no work put into any of the theses, and the ones that did surveys made no effort to have a large or representative sample size (making broad claims after talking to ten African-Canadian families in a single geographical region) The last woman started her thesis presentation by complaining about white privilege within the gender studies class, to which the professor solemnly nodded and acknowledged her (her meaning the professor's) privilege.

The main thing that got me was how little work they'd put in to earn the title Dr. beside their names. These things were at the level of high school projects, yet these students were going to get degrees for them.

The prof herself is a family acquaintance and actually a pretty nice lady overall, but has really drank the kool-aid.

Back when I was more of a leftie, I was part of my high school's GSA(Gay Straight Alliance) and they had a day where we could take a day off from school and basically go into the gym for a day of progressive issues. There was one girl younger than I who I had known from my film class who was proggy as fuck(typical trigglypuff type), and she was helping organize it. Needless to say there was a part where they had us come back in from an outside activity and had all of these statistics on the walls. A few of which seemed to be anti-male biased and didn't seem right. I decided to say nothing but I was more confused with it all.
That event is really what started the deprogramming and me looking more into things on my own.

I had a really kind and supportive teacher that her pronouns in her email signature when I was in school. She was a great person, and spoke very good of me when I asked her to be my reference for an exchange program.
