Where did the term "pooner" originate from?

I've seen it used, but I don't actually know where it came from. Does it have something to do with the origin of "troon" in which it was what tranny members of the "Goonsquad" on SomethingAwful were called?

I think it was someone on reddit(?) who was a ftm herself and drew these really funny, ugly caricatures she called pooners. It caught on and here we are.

Pooners are caricatures of FtM transexuals that are drawn by FtM Transexuals about themselves, named after poon orpoontang which is slang for a vagina.
Imagine if late 19th/early 20th Century Picanniny caricatures were made by Black people, thats a Pooner.
