Which is the best Mad Max movie?

It's not a Mad Max movie if it doesn't have Mel Gibson.

The first one was good, but it's a lot like Evil Dead in that the second movie was better mostly because it was the first movie, but filmed with an actual budget. Thunderdome was meh.

The modern "Mad Maxes" are just a craven cash grab using the story and good memories of Road Warrior as a skin suit. Sure the action sequences are good, but that wasn't the focus of the real Mad Maxes (mostly because of the budget).

If you like Fury Road because "SHINY AND CHROME!" and *explosions* you're probably the same kind of faggot who thinks Empire Strikes Back is the worst Star Wars because its "too slow".

Thunderdome blows ass and is at the bottom.

I go for Mad Max tied with Road Warrior because it shows his origins and gives meaning to Road Warrior (2), road warrior tied with Mad Max.

Fury Road I don’t think belongs in the same category; it’s a reboot and as a standalone film I think rivals Road Warrior. fury Road has everything good; and nothing bad.

Tom could say more than 3 words though…I think Fury Road is more an introduction into the Mad Max universe more so than about Mad Mad himself.

I like the pre-apocalypse of the first film, seeing everything just before it goes over the edge and all the tension- like the start of a zombie film when everyones just starting to panic. Second one's the better film for action though.

Thunderdome I can appreciate for its og Fallout aesthetics but I don't care much for the story. Also Fury Road is at the bottom cos I don't much like Tom Hardy's acting.

Mad Max and Road Warrior are tied for first, Fury Road is a close second ONLY if you excuse the continuity errors by having "max" be the Feral kid from Road Warrior, and Beyond Thunderdome is trash with the singular exception of Master Blaster's retard being implied to be Max's retarded cousin from the 1st film.

I actually watched Thunderdome and Road Warrior again recently, for the first time in many years. I had forgotten how great Thunderdome was in the first half, before completely falling apart in the second half. The Road Warrior is the best. Fury Road close second. It is hard to classify Thunderdome because in evaluating it you cannot just stop after he is put on that horse and everything falls apart.

allright, dystopian movies tier list

MM:FR > The Blood of Heroes > Upgrade > The Road Warrior > Wall.E > Gamer

im allergic to poor world building

Fury Road, Road Warrior, Mad Max, Beyond Thunderdome.

Fury Road is one of my all time favorites, and as close to perfection as I'll rank a movie. Road Warrior is amazing and builds on the first movie, making the world even more insane. The original Mad Max is fascinating in its technically pre-societal collapse, making some of it, like the scenes in Max's home before shit hits the fan, actually strangely comfy. Beyond Thunderdome starts good and ends good, but like everyone else has said, the middle is pure ass.
