Platformer​

I only ever played Mario games, Sonic games and a few indie platformers, so my choices are limited. The best one would be Sonic Mania.

Action adventure / Zeldalike​

Not a very popular genre, so haven't played that many, I'd say either The Binding Of Isaac (Which has Roguelike elements which helps replayability) or A Link To The Past (On an emulator).

RPG​

Easy, Persona 5.

Metroidvania​

Never played any Metroidvania, so nope nothing.

Hack 'n Slash​

Only played one, Bloodroots. Not really my kind of games.

Top Down Shooter​

The closest I've ever played anything like that was agar.io. Let that sink in.

Sidescroller Shooter / Gun 'n Run​

Also never actually played a game like Contra ever. I did play Cuphead, but in my head it registered as a platformer. After further deliberation, I'm a retard and that's my pick since it's the only one I ever played.

First Person Shooter​

Easy, DOOM.

Third Person Shooter​

Another tie, this time between GTA 5 and Red dead redemption 2.

Arena Shooters​

Nope again. Does TF2 actually count as an arena shooter, in which case it'd be my pick.

Dungeon Crawler / Roguelike​

I've only ever played 2 full releases of this genre in my entire lifetime, Crypt of the Necrodancer and Caves of Qud so I'm going with crypt of the Necrodancer, but it wasn't that fun really. Probably not my type of game.

Action RPG​

I'm pretty sure I played one, but I can't actually recall the name, so I'll skip.

Strategy card games (Yu-Gi-Oh ripoffs)​

I tried out Sonic Shuffle on an emulator, pretty decent despite the bad press it got from the interwebs.

No idea what it would entail compared to "Action adventure", so I'll skip.

That sounds boring, so haven't played any.

Visual Novel​

The games from the Persona series are the closest things to a visual novel I've ever played. I'm somewhat interested in Ace Attorney, but never got around to try it out.

Action adventure / Zeldalike: Dark Cloud Dark cloud is a very charming experience, from its repair system to town building, worth a play through if you have not already.​

RPG: Morrowind RPG is my most played genre, and Morrowind my most beloved game, it is everything I want in a game world and setting​

Metroidvania: Super Metroid This is the only Metroidvania I think I have ever played, I liked it ok​

Hack 'n Slash: Sword of the Berserk, Guts Rage cheesy in all the right ways​

This one ruined me as a wee sperg. It tainted my expectations in action games for years afterwards. Every one needed a cool environmental destruction system and if you couldn't so much as blow up a shack I considered it lame.

If you think I have any plebe/normalfag tastes, just assume it's because I haven't played too many of its kind (but not too much, I'll fight you on some of them).

Platformer: Mario Odyssey. I haven't played many.
Zeldalike: BoTW. Again, haven't played many Zeldalikes.
RPG: Morrowind.
Metroidvania: Hollow Knight. See first 2.
Hack 'n Slash: DMC5, MGR.
Top-down shooter: Hotline Miami
Run 'n Gun: Does Mark of the Ninja count? That was pretty fun
FPS: Played a lot, but none really stood out.
TPS: RDR1, Just Cause 2
Arena: Dunno
Roguelike: Tossup between CDDA and Unreal World
ARPG: Dragon's Dogma
Strategy card game: The only one I've played was that one Gwent RPG, which was fun for a while, so I'll pick that.

Sports: Most fun I had was with FIFA 2010 because it was topical. After that I dropped the genre like a sack of neutron star material.
