Glenmorangie 10 has firmly planted itself as my go-to, daily driver Scotch these days. For the price, it is without a doubt one of the best when compared across the board with all the others I've tried. I also enjoy their other offerings as well.
 
Bundaberg's nice but not my favorite for mixing - Reed's Ginger Brew is good for the "fire" part of ginger beer, and there was another brand I was rather fond of but can't remember at the moment.

Thanks, I've actually been searching for a good agricole. Between that and Demeraran rum, decent ones are few and far between even by the standards of the rum industry.

Smith and Cross or one of Appleton Estate’s older expressions are also good, though Appleton Estate isn’t overly funky for a Jamaican rum. Might want to dilute the Smith and Cross though considering it’s 114 proof.
 
If anyone is looking for a good flavored moonshine, Sugarlands Shine Appalachian Apple Pie Moonshine is fantastic to sip on. Can also mix it with club soda/Seltzer.
 
Because it's OG brexit day in US I drank a lot of different thing but some "ruffian" was in my yard with fire works and bottle of makers.

Makers is yummy.
 
So, Six Saints Madeira.

According to their site it's 3-5 years in ex-bourbon barrels then six more months in ex-Madeira casks.
All natural, non-coloured and non-chill filtered, it's not even sweetened with added sugar. At 41,7% ABV it's at a perfect spot - medium body, doesn't need to be stronger and doesn't need any further dilution either, easily drinkable.

Nose: honey, vanilla, spices, dried fruits.
Taste: fresh exotic fruits, spices - nutmeg, faint cloves and cinnamon, syrupy vanilla, molasses.
Finish: lingering vanilla, nutmeg, overripe strawberries.

It has some design issues - the writing on the back of the tin is barely legible and I had a tough fight with the cork. The bottom of the tin however is padded.

I've also ordered a bottle of Wemyss Malts' Spice King 12 yro Highland&Islay which comprises of a secret peated Highland Island malt and a secret unpeated Islay malt. Sick fucks.
 
Wait there are unpeated Islays? I'd never had one that wasn't very peaty.

Bruichladdich and Bunnahabhain, yes - but both distilleries make peated whisky as well. Bunnahabhain Toiteach a Dha and the Moine line, and Bruichladdich's Port Charlotte and Octomore lines.

There are also rare bottlings both indie and official from the other distilleries, but those tend to be more expensive.

Yeah I remember having a peated Bunnahabhain scotch and I've seen Bruichladdich at my local store. Will have to try some of those.
 
So before I go on a 4 hour road trip to chase down a bottle, has anyone tried E.H. Taylor bourbon before? There's a couple dozen bottles of it in my state up north for $44, but to order online it will cost me $144.. because reasons I guess.

Online liquor orders/shipment cost a bloody fortune chiefly because alcohol is treated as a hazardous liquid and requires a fair amount of special handling as well as having a ton of regulatory bullshit surrounding it. Some states even specifically prohibit it. That said I am unfamiliar with EH Taylor.
 
Probitas makes a gery good daiquiri, and is stouter than most white rums at 94 proof.
 
I try to avoid spirits when getting drunk since they leave me with a brutal hangover. I still get hangovers anyway but they are worse after drinking any spirits.

So aside that, I had a nice lovely wasp attack today and got my fucking face lit up so drinking for drinkings sake, I'm retarded and forgot I'm not rich so this entire bottle of Jefferson Ocean... was a bad or great choice.
 
Basic bitch Tanqueray ran out and I’m wondering if I want to replace it with Tanqueray no. 10 (same gin with citrus botanicals in addition to the 4 that Tanq usually puts in) or Plymouth.

Alternatively, they make a mesquite smoke version of crown royal if you don't feel like putting liquid smoke in yourself.

It made for a great mixing whiskey. So does the Tobasco George Dickel.
 
Ended up just getting some Beefeater. Turns out my local store is renovating, so I didn’t want them scrounging around for shit vs just pulling something they already had out anyway. I drink negronis at home anyway, so I probably want the Campari being more present anyway vs a gin with stronger character, though at the same time premium gin is going to be way cheaper than comparable whiskey.

I’m already at the hyperautistic point where I’m freezing and cutting block ice. If I want to add smoke I’d probably be better served just getting a mini smoker.

Or just fat washing your whiskey with bacon fat. Get all the smokey flavor you need there, just don't do it in large batches unless you really like it smokey.

I snagged a bottle of Dareringer by Rabbit Hole yesterday on my most recent liquor store crawl. Kentucky bourbon aged in sherry casks. I haven't had the chance to drink it yet but it smells amazing. I also learned that a couple of stores now carry The Famous Grouse, and I no longer have to order it online.
