Any of them got advice for not wasting your life absorbing other's opinions instead of formulating your own based on IRL life experience?
You should go reread that guy's books quotes again

I'd nominate Kierkegaard as the most based:

I think Immanuel Kant Have Fun claimed that all sexuality is degrading.

And he also claimed eternal torment to finite sin was justified (IIRC).

Marx is a good example of how being a "philosopher" doesn't mean you're smart.
Of all those philosophers in the poll, I think Marx did the most damage to this world, indirectly via that commie manifesto. If it weren't for that manifesto, there'd be no commie regimes, no millions killed, no commie gulags, no Cold War, and no Clown World...

Just try to convince me Rousseau wouldn't be a prolific Redditard. You can't.
Rousseau had sex with a woman. I think Rousseau gets taken out of context quite a bit though. I find him to be somewhat retarded but I think that if you take him out of the context of 18th century France he appears incredibly retarded.

The other thing Philosophy classes do wrong is that they don't realize he is basically arguing the party line of Calvinists due to the Swiss influence on the man. You could view a lot of what he wrote as an argument from a Calvinist perspective against a Catholic perspective.
I'm surprised Voltaire doesn't have more votes. Man was the prototype of a Redditor.
This is the actual redditor. There is a funny story about a French nobleman telling Voltaire "I can show you something you have never seen before Voltaire asked "what" and the French nobleman said "the inside of a Bastille"
None of them.
Most were far more based than what passes today as "right wing".

Hegel is probably the worst philosopher in human history. There's not a single person other than Plato who's world view has caused more damage to the civilization the world round. Also I must mention that Marxism would not have existed if it weren't for Hegel's influence, ergo Hegel is also the most soy philosopher.
That's a quite radical opinion on Plato there. My biggest problem with Hegel is no one really even fucking knows what the fuck it means and we are all just guessing because he wrote what he did in the most retarded manner possible. A similar thing is true with Kant but idealism is a clear enough idea that we basically get it.

Before you hate so much on Plato you should consider that Augustine loved Plato and not without reason. There are bits of the republic that are unbelievably retarded. There are also parts that are wonderful. I'm guessing you like Aristotle and Aristotle too though he didn't like to admit got a lot of what he believed in from Plato.
Of all those philosophers in the poll, I think Marx did the most damage to this world, indirectly via that commie manifesto.
I think people give Marx too much credit for causing communism. I think one of the lessons we should take from the 20th century is that there was no way it wasn't going to be the serial killer century with 100s of millions dying at the hands of government for stupid retarded reasons.

The French Revolution was incredibly violent and Brutal before Marx was even born.
