An event brought me here. The Christchurch shooting - Brenton Tarrant. Never knew the site existed before that, even though I used to hang at SomethingAwful (when it still resembled the funny back in the day) and would occasionally browse 4Chan, Ebaums World and sites like that.
The Farms though, had real-time reporting going on that day, the actual video, and I found it intriguing. Lurked for a good bit and then became more active here and still enjoy it immensely.

I've always found it funny how much "Boomer hate" there is here. Like I personally fucked up all the younger generations that inhabit this place. No, y'all have done a great job fucking things up all on your own - I didn't have to lift a finger. Still, love all y'all no matter what age you are. Life goes on and each generation blames the previous for fucking shit up for them. For me, it was protesting and bitching about the Vietnam war. The draft was a very real thing and your chances of dying in a rice paddy on the other side of the globe fighting in a war the previous generation had thrust upon us were about 50/50. The thing that was so surreal was watching Walter Cronkite (Dad's favorite) every night at dinner relaying today's body count "96 Americans were killed, 510 North Vietnamese were killed" as if somehow just because we killed more of them than they did us, it meant we were winning the war.
I doubt America has the stomach for any kind of real war again, let alone reinstating the draft where you're just a lottery number picked to go and fight.

Boomer hate is for retards still in their rebellious phase. Sometimes they get stuck there; as for the rest of us, we come to learn that maybe it's best to listen to our elders.
Problem with my generation, if we're responsible, is we're generally too busy caring for kids and parents to give the youngens their well needed clout upside the ear. And those of us that aren't responsible are giving youngsters all too much attention on discord....

Far as "boomer hate" goes here, the problem is with the haters, not with me.
Defended the country over twenty years, was entrusted with leading Americans' sons, daughters, husbands and wives. Never let my troops down, always got the mission accomplished. Did my part to help win the Cold War.
Raised a family. Always provided for them, never let them down. Did any shit job I could get at times, but always kept food on the table.
Have worked in a number of industries, including time in Silicon Valley.
Have done all I could to help others. Donated gallons of blood, served on non-profits' boards of directors.
Am by no means perfect. But if you hate me simply for when I was born, it's on you, not me. My conscience is clear. Bite my ass.
