Alright, due to the recent Patreon salt, I wanted to start a thread about content that is actually worth supporting. Now, such an opinion is just that, an opinion, and I know some people don’t like Patreon at all. That’s fine. I respect that. But if you do, who would you support, and why are they worthy of it?
I don’t actually have the money to support anyone but personally, if I could, I’d support PeanutButterGamer, Jordan Underneath, and Jim Sterling.
Those choices mainly come down to my personal tastes, but I have some rules about this stuff, too. If I know about someone’s Patreon before I hear about their content, then that is almost always a no-go for me, with very few exceptions. Usually, that’s a symptom of them advertising their Patreon more than their content, showing a lack of pride (and often quality/quantity) in their work. I also have to feel like they are passionate/care about said content. If they don’t, they’ll lose interest and abandon it, and I’m not paying for that. Finally, I want to see that they put hard work into it. Editing and scripts for videos, or finish projects for art with some experimentation/branching out, periodically.
What about y’all?
