Why are there so many restaurants? - Does no one have any other business ideas?

Because creating one long trough to fill with slop would be a little too on the nose, even for Americans. Gotta make them think they have a choice

People like to eat, other people believe they can cook, corporations can produce slop that tastes vaguely good with no cooking skill required as long as the employee can press the Whopper button.

Restaurants are a very difficult business. The profit margins are slim, the employee pool is difficult, the customers are infinitely cranky, and then you have to worry about potentially poisoning people if your health standards aren't top notch.

There are easier ways to make money, but most restaurant owners have some sort of perverse love for the business. Something about community, necessity, who knows. They are deranged, poor fuckers.

I don't think restaurants are a good business unless you have a solid staff and you most likely won't have that.

Personally, I would recommend getting a trailer and setting up a mobile restaurant that you can operate on your own.
Work whenever you want, wherever you want, for how long you want, no need to buy or rent expensive property, you won't go into debt after you lose your trailer.

You can literally park your trailer near a busy club on a Saturday night, make $3000 in 4 hours and fuck off for the rest of the month.

If none of my plans work out, this is my safety net.
