Both (sex) hate threads attract constant vitriol from the regulars in the opposite sex’s hate thread. Most BP regulars are man hate thread regulars, leading to a lot of them privating their accounts. You see the same mentality in other extremely contentious spheres of the site, like the thunderdome.
