Why do lgbt people have such a hate boner for Reagan?

There's a lot to criticize about Reagan, but I don't know why this whole "he genocided gays" thing keeps popping up. Sure his record on homosexuals wasn't spotless, but he did oppose proposition 6 in California back in 1978 or something. Heck he even wrote a newspaper column about how it's inaccurate that gays are likely to be child molestors, which was a pretty progressive stance at the time.

The whole ignoring AIDS thing is something that keeps getting brought up, and while the administration could have handled it better, why couldn't the gays have just... I don't know, stopped barebacking each other in bathhouses once the virus became news? They're adults after all, why on earth would they need big daddy government to tell them to use protection?

A big piece of the criticism around the HIV/AIDS response was the lack of funding to study the illness and its transmission during the early phase of the epidemic. It wasn't until it started spreading in heterosexuals that a real response was mounted.

Truth be told, any of these men should have known there was a decent chance this virus was sexually transmitted. However, there was an honestly flippant attitude towards STIs during the 1970s (mostly because they were all easily treatable at the time) and that led a lot of them to completely underestimate the danger of HIV. As a result they continued high-risk behaviors despite a mortality rate of 100% at the time.

Reagan dropped the ball but these men also share some of the blame for their behavior and lifestyle. There was a couple of highly disturbing books I've read set during this period and the excesses and sheer depravity of some of the behaviors were shocking.

1. The vast majority of new LGBTQPedos are either very young and lacking in wisdom, or never wised the fuck up because society now encourages perpetual teenagerhood.
2. Western schools have been massively infiltrated with all manner of Communists and ultra-left moonbats in the last 40 years.
3. Said Commies and moonbats harbor a MASSIVE hategrudge for Raegan, so they make sure to pass it along as much as possible to the kids they're supposed to be educating.

It’s largely because much of the current Right wing in America was/is heavily influenced by Reagan.

Regan was a piece of shit who gladly signed the most restrictive piece of gun legislation since the NFA, but the way lefties A-log him to this very day is very pathetic (a similar phenomenon is seen with Margaret Thatcher in the UK).

I STILL have a flippant attitude regarding AIDS, because it’s almost nonexistent among non fag, non prostitute, and non African populations.

Go figure that hyperpromiscuity increases your chances

Lefties hate him for his economic policies and anticommunism, right wingers hate him for being a socially liberal Hollywood Democrat-turned-Republican who sheep-dogged the GOP back onto the road of centrism. The only people who love him are neocons and normiecon boomers, and both the left and the right despise these groups.

As far as HIV went, he was stuck between a rock and a hard place.

He was either going to be literally Hitler for telling buttblasters to wear condoms, and closing down bathhouses and such, or he was going to be literally Hitler for doing nothing/throwing money at it.

Regan was a lot more than homophobic. He hated unions and his bitch wife was super into astrology and her failed drug campaign was hilarious.

They were both actors and they were close with Rock Hudson. He was dying in the mid-80s from AIDS and he reached out to them and they refused to help or meet with him. It really shows how heartless they were.

Also he was bff's with Mingy Thatcher if that tells you anything.

It only became a national epidemic that needed to be addressed through funding and etc. because of gay men's reckless behavior, which they have continued to engage in long after knowing the risks. I'm not some boomer Reagan worshipper, but his position on AIDS was understandable.

Anyone with sense hates unions.

And the Band Played On is my favorite book on the subject. It was written by a faggot who ironically died from GRIDS but it was before political correctness was a thing so fags who couldn’t stop fucking without a condom got most of the blame by the author. No way that book could get written today.
