Why do people talk bad about lard?

Lard's typically cheaper and has a much healthier fat profile than butter. Why does lard get such a bad rap but butter is just seen as normal shit that you can put on everything?

Because it’s literally pure fat
It's got more monounsaturated fat (the objectively good fat) than saturated fat (the one that you're usually told to cut back on). It has no trans fat (which is usually considered bad but some forms are healthy so there's that). Polyunsaturated fat is higher in lard than butter as well.

In basically every metric, it's better than butter. But butter's totally normal while lard has a bunch of shit thrown at it.

It’s because it’s perception. Butter is used for more things. Lard is used only for cooking. And if you had a pound of lard vs a pound of butter on the table abd was asked to pick which is healthier, 99/100 people would pick butter.

You can do pretty much anything with lard that you can with butter...
The perception thing is just begging the question. I'm asking why the perception's there.

Big margarine. Jk. It was used as a fat primarily in the past. Once people started giving up on learning cooking from older generations and thought they knew better, it's just one of those ingredients like gelatin that future generations think belong in the past. Southern cooking uses it a lot and people have been steering away from that for health reasons. Insults like lardass in the lexicon don't help the public's perception of it.

Because lard and all sorts of fat are bad for your body and health, you should be a good healthy human being and eat your grains and corn syrup. They are good for your colon.

The real reason however, is that lard is not kosher and since the U.S. is a zog infested shithole, you will bow to your jewish masters and eat your non-digestible grains.

Because fat is obviously bad because it will make you fat. You eat it and it just kinda claws into you and turns into a gunt.
If you only eat healthy sugar and corn then you can only get fat if it's in your genes and you can't do nuffin bout that.

Duck lard is the best and you can get a big cup of it whenever you roast a duck. Pig one is alright and you can buy it everywhere so nobrainer for baking.

Because they are giant pussies. It's pig fat, you get that shit off bacon or slow roasted pork belly. Tastes better than cooking with neutral oils. Same with tallow and duck fat. Get some fat and you can try confit food, which is great.

Don't be a faggot, use lard in cooking.
