Lard's typically cheaper and has a much healthier fat profile than butter. Why does lard get such a bad rap but butter is just seen as normal shit that you can put on everything?

It's got more monounsaturated fat (the objectively good fat) than saturated fat (the one that you're usually told to cut back on). In basically every metric, it's better than butter. But butter's totally normal while lard has a bunch of shit thrown at it.
